tryptophan is an ammino acid in turkeys and it does make u sleepy, but wif the typical american thxgiving meal being huge, there are many other molecules that compete with the tryptophan and thus its effect is not significant. plus tryptophan is present in many foods, and turkey is not the most tryptophantastic.
