Where’d u go to school?
Louisiana Tech University. Theatre (quell suprize).
we were doing hang and focus (taking the lighting plot (read: design) and putting the lighting instruments in the appropriate positions, hanging them, then focusing the lights where they needed to go. This is usually a long, drawn-out affair.

the University Theatre backstage was the Stage Right Wing of Howard Auditorium. The lighting meat-rack was on Stage Left of Howard, and it was dark dark dark.
There was an issue about he dimmers for Howard, even with the lighting board unplugged, a cyc-light upstage right would come on for no apparent reason. We called it Vera, named after a benefactor of the theatre program there. As I had to go to the meat racks for another instrument to replace a defective unit, doin’ it in the dark dark dark stage wasn’t my idea of fun.

About half-way across the stage (not to say the stage was large, but I had to stop twice and grease the axles) the cyc-light came on. Giving me enough light to see what I needed to grab. On my way back to the Theatre we were working in I passed through the pool of light cast. As I did so I said “thank’s Vera”, and as I exited the pool of light…………it went out.

Then, one day, the kid comes home to the coop, only to find that the farmer has sold the whole lot of them to the local chicken and waffle house. The kid flips out, becomes a mercenary and goes all “Rooster Rambo” on the town. I’m picturing a scene where the owner of the waffle huose gets locked in the kitchen, the lights go out, and he falls into a large pan of flour…stumbles into an egg wash, then is attacked, rolled in breadcrumbs and thrown into a hot-tub sized fryer…
