Apparently we’ve just created a new game.
I have a big black cat named Secret. He was born in my home, from a stray mother who lives with us still. He hates to be picked up, but sometimes loves to be tossed gently on the bed sometimes, also he will stay on the bed, and my husband gets on one side, I go to living room on the other side, and he catches his fur “mousie” as we toss it back and forth. This happy little guy on lolcats does not look thrown or abused in the least….if you are a cat owner/lover, you would know by looking at the picture that cats that are thrown/tossed, against their will, will be twisting their backs to be able to fall straight on their feet. Also, a cat that is threatened or angry will pull it’s ears down flat. I have had cats all of my life. I have 6 cats now. This very young cat is PLAYING, nothing more, nothing less. You need to relax here. Everyone here, I believe are crazy about their cats. No one would tolerate a “funny” picture of a cat being mistreated. I wonder, how many cats have you ever had in your life, not to realize that this is very normal (meaning, somewhat psyco) behavior from a young, energetic, playful cat.

Hey, I lost the post here, but did you say you have a black cat? What is your black cat’s name? I have 3 of them. Mama, the one we took in as a pregnant stray, (hence the name) Secret, her son who his 3x as big as Mama, but he’s such a shy and sweet baby, he’s 5 years old, I call him Secret Sauce. God, I love him so much, I named him Secret because I wasn’t spose’d to have a third cat….then we took a stray black cat off the street last year, we named him Baby, (thought he was a girl til we took him to the vet) I like to hear black cat names, is all.
I have 3 black cats, the one i mentioned is Tonya…also i have two white Meezer-mix kittens and two tabby kittens (who also have a little Meezer in theem)

I’ve had 3 black cats. First one, around 1975, we named Count Blackula, after the movie a year or two earlier. As a kitten, if you cradled him like a baby he went after your jugular!
Second one was named by my cousin, from whom I inherted her: they named her “Her”! Oh, well. I called her “Kittykitten” but it really didn’t matter what I called her because we were the only two living crtters in the house: if I was speaking at all, I was talking to her, right? (She understood about telephones & paid no attention.) A friend suggested I name her Cleocatra, though.
Current black kitty is named Silk because of her coat — I should change it to “Satin,” but I’m too lazy to work on making it stick.

The bottom line on this pic is that we do not know what the actual situation is. Maybe the cat was thrown, maybe it jumped. Cats, like people, are all different. Basically, you are jumping to the conclusion this cat is being abused, and others are jumping to the opposite conclusion. Why argue about this at all, since we just don’t know the facts.

Frenchy and Sonny can get up to four feet in the air when they are out in the yard, and Tiger will leap three feet from the deck railing onto whomever is in the way. Mama and Princess don’t jump much, and Stormy is getting over the car incident, but Tigger, Mimi, Flame and Tortilla, they all leap as well. They love to jump on people when they bend over, and will jump down from the deck railing onto people and then leap down to the ground and run all the time. They love it.

The most playful cats I’ve owned have been small kittens or young cats. A cat the size of the cat above, usually wants to sleep or be scratched behind the ear and are too lazy to do much. And certainly do not want to be thrown in the air or across the room.

As most cat lovers have said above, if the cat was tossed and didn’t like it, it would be twisting and turning it’s body all around trying to LAND not be in full IMMA GET YOU! position. Just because the cats you have had in the past weren’t playful when they got older doesn’t mean that NO cats at an older age are playful. Remember cats get to that size when they are still on the younger side, they don’t become old and big in one foul swoop. Other posters have also put their own experiences with cats who like to attack people in as well, and they are older cats.

don’t throw your cats. check out their shoulder joints or lack thereof. you put uncontrolled stress on cartilage, tendons and muscle. funny pictures are great but don’t risk your cat because you want to be able to say “hey that’s my picture, look how funny I can be.” just hit yourself over the head with something, i’m sure they’ll laugh.
