Sorry you’re going through a tough time. I’ve been through it, too, and it’s no fun at all.
Right in the middle of the worst phase (bursting into tears at work, etc.), I read a quote from Ella Fitzgerald (I’m paraphrasing here) to the effect that having your marriage break up was like having a bad wisdom tooth, and getting a divorce was like having a wisdom tooth extracted — but once it’s out, you’re done, and you can start healing. That helped me a lot. Hope it helps you a little.
PS. Five years later, the former Mr. Tessie and I are semi friends who have occasional contact (he and his spouse du jour live far away), phone each other for birthdays, etc. It’s possible.
