Is it just me, or is the location for this thing held in a part of town so destitute that the only way to access it is over dirt roads?
There are several buses and a tube station right by the place. Public transport access is excellent.
There’s a civilised alternative – get the Thames Clipper -ferry service- much more civilised – you can avoid land altogether, staff wear cute uniforms and there’s a bar on board. – There’s a shuttle service from embankment and waterloo all the way there. I’m going from Greenland Quay, so will take me 10 minutes tops.

Mostly you are right – unless you take the civilised way – the Thames Clipper. Staff with uniforms and a bar – what else could you need?
The Docklands area of London is a bit of a mish-mash of wasteland and shiny new buildings as regeneration work’s ongoing. However, The O2 is pretty well connected to two major roads, even if it is tucked slightly out of the way. Best way to get there is North Greenwich station on the Jubilee line.
Teh rejennerashuns came abouts cuz big cuntainer shipz cudnt fit in teh tiny doks, so a lot of teh landz was abandondeded. It are getting betters tho!

Can someone tell me the best/cheapest way to get to London from Birmingham? The routes/methods I’m looking at take about 3 hours each way, and I’m not done with classes till 5, so that doesn’t seem like the best way.
Suggestions?
Look for a train option: Virgin Train is cheap when booked in advance and takes only 1,5 hours. (I only went from London to Birmingham though, dont know whether it’s the same back).
Another cheap option would be by Megabus, but that takes 3 hours as well.
