Interesting question. DE is so tiny that you routinely see your US and state senators and representatives in everyday places, like the grocery store. Joe Biden attends our church. Senator Carper’s son and my youngest daughter attended the same elementary school and junior high school and played in the band together. Stuff like that. Party affiliation in DE is mostly meaningless, since you literally know the candidates. Ticket splitting is totally normal for voters. We often have a Democratic governor and Republican lieut. governor (or vice versa), for example.
That said, folks in DE are rarely neutral in their opinions about an office holder. Although I think the vast majority of us think Senator Joe is pretty OK. Six terms indicates that pretty well.

More answer: I personally like Biden a lot. He says what he thinks and feels, and really doesn’t worry about whether he “hurt someone’s feelings”. I thought he was at his best after 9/11. Those TV interviews and panels he did were classic Biden. And he is a great guy. Very real, not a stereotypical “politician”. Which you have to be in DE, or you’ll set off folks “BS Detectors”.
I was hoping Obama would pick him for SecState, where he would RULE, but VP is a good choice, too.

Dis reminds me ob when I wuz just a teen, sigh, i had water bed with big headboard. On teh headboard, i had ginormus speekers, like 3 foot tall ones (’member when big speekers ment big sounds, lol) Anyways, my SamCat used to like to sleep atop the speekers atop teh headboard, then jump down to teh waterbed rite next to mah hed ushully rite after I’d falls asleep. Momma cried all nite, pretty much… I did get some sleep tho, b/c luckilee she’s a soft meow-er.
This morning I changed it up a bit… I gaved her and teh babbehs anotter room. So they is in 2 rooms now. And she seems kwite content.
