I spent a chunk of time yesterday going through photos. Found some from NC, some from Ohio, but none from the trip. Will look Tuesday when I get home. Then I have to get to a scanner and download to my ‘puter.

oddly enough…..no. I had a gig at the armory in south Manhattan that morning about 11 am. This was fashion week and the lighting had to be changed for the next fashion show being held there. I hadn’t turned on the TV, the voice-mail on my phone went off, but I couldn’t access it for some reason (little did I know at the time), I assumed it was further issues with that dratted thing. With where my apt. was in Brooklyn fire, ambulance, and police sirens are just background noise by this time.
I had no idea something was wrong till I tried to get on the subway and was told “No Manhattan bound trains anywhere”, then the clerk told me why.

I call my dad and have him put my truck int he shop to fix a fuel leak, and make it a rush job, ride 1,450 odd miles to TX, round up gear, load it and motorcycle in truck, scoot booty for North Carolina..another 1,450 miles or so, buying tools and supplies I could’nt find at home.

I get there, saturday afternoon.

Make contacts working with folk there. “Dude, there is SO much work in NY for what you can do.”
For Real?

So I ended up moving to NY and working for about a year and a half. Then the Towers fell.

let’s try this for the third time.

We visit, she has some Okra. We work on the resume, she has some Okra. I have an interview at where she works. I blow it. She has some Okra.

She, the light of my life, lets call her M for the sake of brevity, is also an ace Stage Manager. M teaches others how to be Stage Managers. M is also SM-ing a production for the Shakespere festival. I go along to a rehearsal and end up helping the director with an actor problem. After rehearsal some of the peeps go to a bar for drinks. This is something I never did and rarely do now. I guess I’m just not that comfortable with groups of people I don’t know. M has a splitting headache, M goes home, gives me the keys, I go to the bar.

The rehearsal is over, and some of the folks are going to a bar for a drink after rehearsal. Something I’ve never done. I just don’t go out with strangers to…..well I rarely go out at all. I get to H’burg at Ungodly in the AM. I’m not gonna wake her up at 3 inna morning. I wait at a 24 hr restaurant and read till dawn. About dawn:30 I park outside her apt.
