Yesterday was quite windy here in Michigan.I usually let my cats out once a day onto my 2nd floor balcony,and although I was apprehensive about the wind,I opened the doorwall for the cats to get out. 2 of the cats said “pleh” pretty quickly to the windy conditions and came back in,but my Zoey decided to stay out.There is a nylon cat condo out on the balcony that the cats like to lie in.Zoey was nosing around the condo while I was in the living room folding laundry,and all of a sudden I hear a loud “skritch,skritch,skritch” like claws on nylon,and….Zoey is gone!!!
I ran out to the balcony,calling Zoey’s name,and could not see her on the grass below.As I was running down the stairs to go outside,my downstairs neighbor was about to come up to see if it was my cat meowing at their doorwall! These poor people are elderly,and were probably wondering what the hell was going on,with cats falling from the sky and all.
Zoey turned out to be okay,but the fall obviously scared her.I found holes in my T-shirt last nite from when I had picked her up to carry her back inside.
I wonder if she’ll go out when I open the doorwall this evening………..
