The neu cat toi! Der iz a peyce ob wuud howlding up a curtain ruum seperator in mai apartment. Ai mayde a dubble loop ob wool tu form a ring arownd the bar. From dis, I hung a dubble lyne ob wool, were bofe strands reech teh grownd. Half way up teh dubble lyne ob wool iz a small cardbored box, filled wib pebbles. Teh wool runs thru teh box seberal thymes, sew it can’t fall off, adn it iz too high fore teh kitteh tu bang into. But it iz hebby enuf to mayk teh wool into a pendulum that will swing for a long thyme. Nao, wat I did next woz tu put a big, flat box unda teh pendulum, put a bit of kitteh carpet on it, adn sprinkle catnip on teh carpet. Mai kitteh liez on teh carpet, getting hyper, then I swing teh pendulum ober her. The two strands ob wool run ober her at different playces and thymes, adn she gows nuts! Each thyme teh pendulum swings tu me, I gently push teh box lyke a parent pushes a child’s swing, but I push teh box in random direkshuns, so teh wool gows all kynds of ways. Yub nebber seen a kitteh go so nuts, trying to guess where the wool iz gowing to go.

I had five cats. None of them ever really paid any attention to the TV. The only real exception to that rule was my boy Hannibal and the only thing he watched was the meerkat shows on Discovery Channel. He was fascinated by them. After watching them, he started sitting up like this, the only one of my cats to strike this pose. I do believe he learned the behavior from watching the meerkats on TV!
