rminds mee ov teh nuws storiee ov teh firemenz hoo went 2 put owt teh fire n a owld building. dere dey saw teh mommykitteh comin owt frm teh burnin buildin carryin teh bebbeh kitteh in her mouf. she putz teh bebbeh doawn an den runz back in 2 teh buildin. she ran back and forf until she had saveded 4 or 5 bebbeh kittehs. by dis time she was badly burnt an culd only see frm 1 eye.
beliv it or not, she nd 3/4 ov teh bebbehs survived an were adopted by teh good peeps.

T’is troo. Wunce upawn a tiem, owr kitteh Daemon climbed up a pecahn tree and desided it was to far to come back daon. I went in teh haows and opened a can of toonafish and browt it owt to teh tree. Daemon was liek, “HALP! HALP! I CAN’T GET DAOWN! HALP ME! HAA…Woah, comin’ thru!!!” He scaled daown the tree sideways and FAST — he wanted taht toonafish!

It would be great to see peeps (who are financially able)give to a rescue organization in the wake of such hardship. I saw a version of this picture on the afternoon that Cedar Rapids flooded,and it broke my heart. United Animal Nations,to whom I have given a little money each year since Hurricane Katrina,
was right on the ball sending out e-mails for donations.They are affiliated with Emergency Animal Rescue Service(EARS),who responds to disasters.
Give if you can,please….even if it’s to your local shelter.

I think that’s really telling when you see what looks like another person behind him carrying a huge pile of stuff, and then just him carrying the two kittehs.

I wonder where/how they wound up.
That’s my town. All the animals whose owners were identified were returned to them or kept at a shelter they created at a local community college until their families could retrieve them. (Many people were in shelters themselves or staying in places that didn’t allow pets.) If the owners weren’t identified, they were kept in another building until the families could be found, and they’re putting the ones not identified up for adoption now. Some people are also providing foster families for displaced pets.
