I have a big sad this morning. My 15 y/o diabetic kitty, Josie, isn’t doing well. She keeps getting dehydrated (despite drinking and eating gushee foods) and has lost alot of muscle mass. She has gone from her previously-obese weight of >20 lbs and is now just over 7 lbs. Her ideal weight is 9-10 lbs. Because of her loss of muscle, bad knees and diabetes (which she’s had for 9 years), her back legs aren’t very strong.
I’m afraid the end is near, and I’m not ready…
Hugs back at you and Josie. She’ll let you know when she’s ready and all you can do is be there for her and know that you have given her a wonderful life.

Butts, wen mah kittehs had kidney prolems, we gab lots and lots ov sub Q fluids and tehy got better. A vet told meh that one ov mah kittehs wuddn’t maek it froo teh nite, but I gave sub Q fluids fur a long long tiem, and she libbed fur yeers and yeers.

Its amazing how these little creatures have a profound effect on us, and despite what we try and tell ourselves we are never ready for them to pass on. Just remember that they will always be waiting for you on the other side and you will have many more happy times with them. Its going to be a while before I see my old mutleys tessa, charlie, sally and Jazz, aswell as my lil hammies Arty and Gary, (am just a bebbeh) but I know they are all there waiting for me so we can play like we used to. Just remember the good times as they will always outweigh the bad and the memories you have will never fade.. I’m certain Josie has had a fantastic life because of you and you because of her. I’ll be thinking of you both!
