Fer seberal yeers, seberal years ago, I worked as a marshall at the Buick Classic. Terribul job, you gotta buy the uniform ($70) for the right to stand inna sun fer at least 12 hours, trine to be polite to stoopy spoiled (sumtimes drunk) rich peeps who mostly wanna git inside the ropes when Tiger comes frew. An when the grate golfers do come frew the marshalls hafta turn der back onna golfers to watch the gallery an mek shir nobody does nuffin stoopy. Also hasta hold hans inna ayr an say Quiet Pleeze or Pleeze Stand. So you don’t even git to see the greats ob the game.
One yeer der were big rayn delays on Frydy an most peeps wented home. Dey decided to catch up by startin at 7:00 insted ob 9:00 AM Caturdy so dey needed extra marshalls. Dey sed you knows sumbody den ax dem to hep. I calls a gawlf buddy – meet me at six I sez an I kin get you insyde der ropes awl day fer free fer only two hours werk. OK he sez.
