And more importantly, how iz little Esme doing?
Yesterday I took of her collar for a little while. First, she snuggled up to me and purred then she was all like, “Hay wait! I can warsh now!” So she had a baff right next to me on teh couch. She did not go for her butt teh first thing, so I was encouraged. But when she got to it, it started bleeding after just a few licks. So I prevented her from warshing that area by covering it with mah hand and she moved on to other parts of her. Then I put teh collar back on, to both of our disappointment. Then I warshed mah hands elebenty-gazillion times.
Teh sore spot is much moar better, though. She lets me put antibiotic ointment on it. She’s separated from Liam today so she can rest and so he doesn’t lick the ointment off of her. She does seem like a feel-betterer girl than she did last week.
It also occurred to me that since the collar has ridges on the outside of it she might be abrading her butt with them when she assumes teh butt-warshing position. I’ll see how she is tonight, mabye give her another break for a few minutes so she can has a baff, but teh collar might have to stay on a few moar days until she can wash without making herself bleed.
I be glad there iz good progress on the healing of the incision, and the respites from the collar. What does the dr think about further treatment, and long-range prognosis? I thinks I remember you saying the dr thought they got everything, but wuz still konsidering chemo. I still likes to think that whether with or without chemo, Esme will have many, many years of happy good health before any more problems come along.
I have to meet with the oncologist to see what chemo will involve, especially from Esme’s point of view. I’ll consider it if it seems the right thing to do. Otherwise, we’ll just be vigilant about checking for re-growth. I’ll make an appointment for sometime this week or next.
Esme is 16 and diabetic but she is NOT ready to go yet. I don’t just mean I’m not ready to let her go, she has lots of life and fight still left in her.

I got teh results late last week. I don’t remember the pic, so I can recap. The mass was cancerous: sebaceous gland carcinoma. They think they got all of it, but there was one edge that was really close. I haven’t talked to the oncologist yet, but the surgeon things the chemo would help ensure that if the marginal bit was tainted that the mass wouldn’t grow back.
Thanks for updating me…I feel bad when I miss important updates like that! Give sweet Esma a big old hug from me and tell Liam to be sweet to his big sister….little brothers are such pests!

Liam is a pest to her sometimes, but he is vry sweet. I put him in teh bedroom for an hour or so teh other night to give her a brake and when he came back out he clinged to me for about 5 hole minnits! “Mama, why u puts me in there all by mahself? Wif only mah toy mouses, teh window by teh birdfeeder and teh bed to bounce on? Why?”
