She had a mass removed from near an anal gland. Turned out to be cancerous – sebaceous gland carcinoma. They think they got it all but you know how these things are. She’s on day 12 in her e-collar and hating it.

Hai, cween! Esme is doing ok. Her bum is much less sore it seems, and — don’t tell teh vet — I’m thinking of taking off her collar later today instead of tomorrow or teh day after. It appeared that Liam had been licking her butt wif his ruff tung, although I hadn’t seen him do it. I kept them apart Friday and most of yesterday but I realized that I had been using teh same vitamin E oil on her raw sore butt that I used on a scratch on mah leg and Liam kept tryin to lick mah leg after. He must’ve likked her butt because of teh oil! Mah detective skills, let ms show u them. So I switched to some Diaperene for her butt — not so good-tasting.

I still has to talk to teh oncologist to see if it is worth doing teh chemo as a preventive measure or if we just have her checked every few months and decide whut to do if teh cancer comes back.
