My kitteh decided he’d bypass the stairs and jump instead. Now he’s in the hospital with a broken foot, awaiting surgery. There goes my tax refund and stimulus check. He got so focused on a bird that he forgot about the 15 feet between the top and the bottom. Keep an eye on yer buddies.

This is the second time in 1 week he’s done this. Last week he did a belly flop, got shook up but eventually got back to his ornery self. This time he broke 7 of the 8 meta tarsals in his 2 back paws. The emergency vet took some X rays and then bandaged them up, My regular vet then looked at the pictures and said he can’t do the surgery and the nearest orthopedic surgeon is 120 miles away. Because the bones are soooooooooo thin they can’t be pinned on the inside, they would have to be pinned externally so they can knit. Cost: $1000 or so. Right now Travis is bandaged up and getting adjusted to just laying around the house for the next 2 weeks until some more X rays will be taken. He is not in any pain just upset over trying to figure why this is happening. I think the bones will just have to heal like they are with his feet an inch shorter. Vets think he’ll be okay eventually overall, but his world class leaping days are over. He’s banned from the porch area where this happened forever. He is 5 years old now.
remember, kittehs are just like 3 year olds, Gotta kitteh-proof everything…. See ya…
