Just a heads up:
Childish intarweb threats aside, the site that Longcat and tacgnoL came from (here referred to as ‘anonymous’ for the sake of the people who seriously should NOT investigate.. trust me on this, I’m giving you really good advice here, don’t push it) is filled with many thousands of highly connected young adults who have a great deal of experience in making your internet experience miserable. It’s pretty much what they do all day; they make lulz, and they don’t care who stands in their way (science, organized religion, each other, et cetera).
Now, I like ICHC. I check it several times a day for kyoot kittehs wif captions. And although I’m sure the worst that would happen is several DoS attacks, that alone is bad enough. It means, until everything is cleared up, that people will be denied teh kyoot kittehs. And that’s wrong.
Don’t tell me that I’m a blind idiot for not reading the print below the picture indicating that ICHC has already acknowledged their given names nor should you pull your hair out assuming I’m another lazy TLDR’er who just skipped to the bottom to post his two cents. It’s not my object to point out who they are. My object is to tell whomever it is who chooses which kittehs to post on the front page to lurk moar, in the event that this crossing-over ever happens again.
Anonymous is not to be taken lightly. They are legion, they do not forgive, they do not forget. And yes, they’re nothing but a bunch of internet retards, but they can drag ICHC down with them in a bloody heartbeat, and I don’t want that to happen. I’m thinking only of teh kittehs.

Some of the things they’ve accomplished are quite endearing, such as bringing down an evil cult (see, they’re not all bad). They even made many news pages for their efforts.
As for that which could hurt you, don’t worry. You personally are in no danger, unless you visit the website. And only then, it’s because the content on the site is not for.. well.. there’s really no nice way to put it. You know how bad some stuff on the Internet is. Well, imagine if there was a website with no (or extremely limited) rules. Imagine the sort of content that would immediately be posted on the site. Then, imagine what it would do to the people who frequent the site. Then, imagine what new content would be created by those people.
It’s really quite amazing, if you can look at it from the right perspective. On the one hand, it’s horribly immature and cruel. On the other, it’s a strong and robust outlook. What it all boils down to is, life is cruel, heartless, inhumane, a constant struggle for a bit of happiness. If you can laugh at the worst that the universe has to offer, then what could possibly bring you down? The hard part is getting there. You have to wade through endless threads and images, many of which could scar you for life if you aren’t prepared. Many who frequent this site are not prepared. Please, take my good advice. Don’t investigate further.

Freerefill, i appreciate your—well, your realness. As someone who could very easily get hooked on this particular site—only this site, mind you, i don’t go to anything other than cheezburger and hotdog—real life is a good thing. Addictions are a danger to many folks for a variety of reasons. It usually means there is something that hurts so deeply that it’s frightening. The addiction, whatever it is, helps keep that pain at arms’ (or paws’!) reach. Addiction to the internet often stems from a fear of interacting with real-life people. My heart aches for them. Facing your fears is a real bear—and as i told one young lady, “You’ve got to face the bear before you can be healed.”
Many of us come here for a break from real life. A number of us have problems with our children—physical probs, behavioral probs, physical things that CAUSE the behavioral things! And that hurts. My husband has just spent his first year with ulcerative colitis, and a lot of other things have gone wrong as well. He nearly died a few weeks back, and the laughter i found here helped me cope. A lot of folks are out of work. And there are the folks that are dealing with chronic health problems. When we run into the number of people in a rage that happened on this thread, it’s horrifying, to say the least. One of the reasons we come here is because people treat each other well. The level of insult encountered this time is NOT congenial, to say the least. I don’t mess with those angry folks except to tell them i don’t care for what they’re saying, or how they’re saying it. But i can not allow evil to triumph over me because i am afraid. I am a Christian. That doesn’t mean (necessarily) that i was born in a church, or got baptized as a baby, or any of the outward actions one associates with Christianity. It means that at some point in time, i asked Jesus the Messiah to be my Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit lives within anyone who will do that, and there is a growth process involved. (We are all works in progress—we are not perfect.) One of the effects of that spiritual transaction is an increasing desire to be helpful, to heal the pain of others—and a repugnance for all that causes harm to others, in any form. Now, that may open up a whole lot of hostility out there, but because i am who and what i am, i find the great majority of this thread painful. Is there some way we can be civil to each other? Let us go back to being the loving, caring site that i came to love. Thank you for listening.
