Well, Jamb256, he can leave when his term of dooty ends but even then there are two things that keep the marines in the marines: They’re marines – thats something only another marine can really understand (Lord knows I can’t figgure it out) tehy really understand duty – look up Semper Fidelis. They believe it, they live it. The other thing is less prosaic, the government can drag them back for many years after they’re gone.
