When Husband and I were planning our reception, we decidedly hated the salmon selection offered by the hotel…. but it was an Autumn In New England kinda wedding, you know, so we REALLY wanted to offer salmon as a dinner choice. The hotel’s head chef got to have some fun and created a special dish just for our wedding – it was a salmon fillet, crusted with walnuts and a touch of maple syrup – VERY New-England-y! It was perfect!
Well, since this wasn’t a dish normally offered by the hotel, they wanted me to be sure that I covered all the allergy bases, and specifically asked me to please notify all of our guests that the walnut-crusted salmon contains nuts …….. Now…. personally, I’m pretty sure my family is bright enough to figure out that the walnut-crusted salmon contains nuts but, just to be sure, I printed the following on the back of the response cards:
“WARNING!! Walnut-crusted salmon MAY CONTAIN NUTS. Wedding party definitely contains nuts. Not valid in all areas. Some restrictions may apply. Odds of winning are determined by number of entries.
