The feline light of my life has an extremely aggressive cancer. The first tumor was excised. By the time we got back to get her staples removed there were TWO new tumors. This is sarcoma and from everything I have read, there is no hope. I refuse to give up without a fight. Does anyone have suggestions on sites or other sources of infomation that offer suggestions that just might be useful without hurting her? I’ll try anything, including voodoo dolls if there is any chance at all that I can help her.

I lost my beloved kitty last year to intestinal lymphoma. do you have a good oncologist, and has s/he talked to you about the dif chemo treatments? i heard that mustargen has been effective in some cases. I’m so sorry, i know how painful it is. My best to you and your sweet baby.

Second opinion from a kitteh oncologist? Do kittehs have the equivalent of American Cancer Society? Try finding all the information you can about the kitteh’s condition.
When someone very dear to me (human not kitteh) was diagnosed with lymphoma I scoured the web for information
and educated myself so I could ask the oncologist pertinent questions.
I don’t if that was helpful at all but

Ohai Lucy, I am going through the same with my goggie. First, just let me say what ever you decide it is the RIGHT decision. I had the luxury of being guided by a staff at a veterinary school, and two cancer researchers (neighbors) who could talk the talk, as they had been through the same thing with their goggie. Ultimately, it was my heart that told me what to do.
Are you near a university or a large animal hospital?
As you already know what the cancer is, there is the internet.
Has your vet sent other patients somewhere for a second opinion?
Vets and yes, surgeons and oncologists will tell you they are still learning. It is a relatively new area for them as well. The more opinions you have the better chance you have of finding help.
Because of the type and placement of my goggie’s tumors we have decided to do nothing. Whatever you decide it will take your breath away from the sad, but it is the right decision for you and Amy.
On a happy note. We spent the weekend digging in the snow and giving him snow baths (where we cover him with snow and rub it all over him) and you have never seen a happier goggie.
I believe in good energy and you will be at the top of my thoughts. Hugs to you and Amy, cheezfrnds really DO care about you both.
