not to bring down the lolcats, but people leave these cords to blinds or drapes like this all the time without separating them. i’ve heard of more than one incident where a cat was hurt or worse when a cord like this got hung around its neck. please remove this one. it may give someone else ideas. not cute. very sad

One of my kittens got her leg stuck in one of our camp chairs and I was so scared she broke it because it looked like it was at a weird angle but I got her off really carefully and then she went running off after looking all peevish at me and the chair and has been fine since. Cats is silly. Another one of my cats put her head
in a cereal box, went running around backwards as fast as she could, poor cat has done stuff like that like 4 times, but I think she’s learned since it’s been a year
since anything like that has happened.

I had a cat get brain damage because she got wound up in a cord just like that. It’s not very funny, it’s extremely dangerous for the cat AND the humans – because some cats will panic and make it worse. Please remove this picture, it brings back VERY bad memories of my beloved cat.

I had a cat that nearly choked herself that way! Came home and heard my other cat screaming for help – really! – went upstairs and found my little calico hardly able to breathe, with the blinds cord tight around her neck, and my siamese was yelling at the top of his lungs to get some help for his buddy. And boy could that cat yell. Anyway I was really lucky not to lose her. Do be careful about these things!!!!!

Ur right. Here the cat seems to be safe – specially because there’s someone there. We once found a cat hanging from its feet on a gate to a school. He had some sort of cords all around his hips… The cat was just meowing and twisting itself there and no one would do anything… We grabbed a door mat and held it down, since he was *really* scared and upset, then cut the cords with a scissor an old woman lent us. The kitty ran away and we didn’t get to see it he was alright… :/
