Dear Elle. I hope YOU understand that your remark is neither original nor clever. We have just enough people who drop by and feel, for reasons I cannot fathom, that it is all right to be rude to people when visiting them in their own house, that we have a name for it. And your cats (though I have a hard time believing this) must be rude, too, if you really think they would laugh at people who hold them in such high esteem and honor them each and every day.

LOLcat is the official language of this site. It is not required that you speak it here, and we have many dear friends who are more comfortable in English, and that’s all right, as we all speak both. If you do not like it, you do not have to read it. And if you cannot read it, then you are not getting the humor either, and for that, I feel sorry for you. Because this site, in many ways (but different), could hold its own with the fabled Algonquin Round Table.

LOLcat is not easy to learn to speak. Most of us have made the effort because many things are FAR funnier in LOLcat than in English. And it puts us into a light hearted mind set as well. But it is a real language – or at least, a dialect, of its own.

I also cannot imagine why you think it is all right to drop into someone’s home (and this is our home) and insult them. You wouldn’t march into someone’s house – someone you hardly knew – and begin telling them how stupid they were. Would you???? Even the cats you purport to know seem to be rude. But I cannot believe you know even cats very well, because not a one that I know would behave in such a way to people who love them and hold them in such high esteem.

Elle – if this is the way you behave In Real Life, then I would ask you to take a big breath, look at what you have done, and reflect upon your behavior and the effect it may have on others. And if you have very few friends, you might now know why.
