He describes them in his letters. He said he’s have a carefully planned painting, then a seizure would hit, and all his plans would be ruined, because he’d respond to what he was seeing at that moment. Seems he’d dilute the colors, which is why some of his paintings are light-colored with wobbly lines. Also seems he had grand mal seizures (“out like a light”).

I think I know what’s wrong with the chest — I’m not a Photoshop expert, but the moar I look at it, the more I think that it’s an adult cat’s head plunked onto a kitten or young cat’s body. The fur texture’s all wrong, the head’s too big for the body, the cropping of the head is NOT a well-done job — there’s just too many things wrong with this picture for me to believe that it’s a real cat.

Breathe, everybody — I’m pretty willing to lay down my lunch money that this isn’t abuse of a kitty — abuse of Photoshop for sure, but I don’t think any kitties were harmed in the making of this photo.

But it IS disturbing — I think because it doesn’t add up as a real photo…see the discussion of the ancient statue in the book Blink.

I agree with y’all. Even though I am no photo expert, it is quite easy to see the above mentioned points, even before you pointed them out. To me, it is funny in a very strange way, but also sad in a very real way–makes me think of the tortured and painful life of a beautiful soul.

That is interesting. Was Van Gogh prone to seizures? I have recently read about an unusual type of seizures–artful, hallucinatory, beautiful–which some artists and visionaries have had, including Dostoevsky.

Ai alzo find diz picher disturbing. Mbbe juz position of cat. Doesnt’ look natural. Perhaps photo was tampered with….otherwise, I don’t know what is going on with this kitty. Even if ear healed some time ago, kitty could still be experiencing pain from severed nerves.
