There wuz audible laffter in teh audience!! Ai did, too!!

(has to do with his godly duties). So he kisses her on the forehead (to take away her godhood) and puts her to sleep on the top of a high mountain, and surrounds her by protective fire. Only the bravest hero will be able to find her. (That’s the end of The Valkyrie).

“Siegfried” takes place about 19 years later. It begins – well – telling us about Siegfried, whose destiny is supposed to save the gods from the power of the Ring. (long involved story). His adventures take him to many places – he slays a dragon – and (ewww) licks the dragon’s blood from his finger – BUT this is magic and now he can understand what birds are saying! A nice little forest bird comes along and tells Siegfried (who is now 18 and is longing for love) where he can find the most beautiful and worthy bride in the world.

He goes – (he also does not know fear) – gets through the fire. Finds Bruennhilde – kisses her on the lips and she begins to wake up. (She’s been on this mountain for some 19 years now.) The first thing she does is raise her arm(s) to the sun to greet its heavenly rays.
Hence -” Hail to you, sun.” She hasn’t yet seen Siegfried (who is, of course, VERREE handsome – much like the Young Nekkid Guy in the Nawty Barn, who duz the irining and serves the martoonees.

Be warned. The cycle does NOT have a happy ending. Pretty much everybody dies.
