There was a mommy kitty in an abandoned house. There was a fire. Momcat got out, kittens (5 of them, less than 2 weeks old, eyes barely opened) did not. Someone, somehow rescued the two that were still alive. One of them went to a young woman who is a client at the clinic where I work. She bottle-fed him, taught him to potty, did everything until he was about 9 weeks old, at which point a) she found that her allergies were really bad, and b) her landlord noticed and reminded her that she couldn’t have cats in the apartment. She went into a tailspin. This could have been VERY bad. Her primary counselor and one of the Nurses tried to find a home for the kitten, and realized that I’m a sucker soft touch. I checked with J, expecting a “hell no” and got instead “of course. He needs us” and Skye became J’s birthday present. String music was NOT a part of this dude’s life.
