I have a Master’s Degree in English Literature and am enthralled by LOLSPEAK, as are many other highly literate people. There are a number of essays recently posted at University sites addressing the phenomenon, and some new egghead lolspeak sites for physicists, theorists, librarians, and one for Chaucerians who have translated Canterbury Pilgrims into LOLspeak.

Language is not static, it is fluid, dynamic, emotionally organinc, and ever changing. Each day new words and expressions enter the language as the human phenomenon called language goes through endless permutations, because the purpose of language is not to please the Grammarian of the day, or the Language Police, or the turgid stick-up-their-ass control-freaks who’ve lost the ability to participate in one of the greatest pastimes humans enjoy—just being PLAYFUL. Language simply serves the purpose of COMMUNICATION, in grunts, growls, sounds, words, sentences, paragraphs, Language does not serve grammarians, it serves communication of the emotional and rational aspects of human mind and spirit, for the purpose of survival and evolution.

Presently, people are war-weary, terrorism-burnt out, sick of lies and bullshit. People want to return to innocence, playfulness, good-heartedness, silliness, and cuteness.
