I agree with you. I think giving proper credit is very important. As is getting permission, etc.. It isn’t just because it is the law, it is because it is the right thing to do. To not ask permission to use copyrighted material is theft, people.

is the address of the contact page. I would use the contact form, and include the reason you got on the undeliverable message. It should have had a reason, like mailbox full, or undeliverable as addressed, or something along those lines.
You could also try right clicking the link, copying the email address, and opening up your own email program to email them from there, and see if you get a different result.
