(The very notion of a glowstick-equipped speculum made me cackle so loudly that the kitturz stopped their post-dinner gushyfuuud rampage and looked at me very strangely. And you just can’t explain these things to kitturz.)

spyke was TEH best cat in the whole world. he was the one constant in my life for his first seven years, putting up with moves to several different states (CT-VT-CT-NC-CT-and finally NH) and never really complaining. whenever he wanted my attention he would sit at my feet and lift his left paw as if he was reaching for me. he would often do this silent meow thing (opening his mouth, but no sound) that was just hysterical. when we lauged at him, he’d look at us all injured like, “whut?” i miss him something turrible, but often in the evening, when we hear a noise on the stairs and nobody’s there, we know he’s still with us in spirit.

what did your spike look like? mine was all black, and i have this one photo of him in which the only part of his face you can see is his gorgeous green eyes. i named him spyke because when he was a kitten, his hair stuck out in every different direction possible…made him look like a punk rocker. and he sorta had that kind of attitude, too.
