Not really offensive picture, just sensitive. Not sure the Nam vets would find it funny, but it’s sympathetic. Sometimes it takes an attempt at humor to make a point.

But we WERE allowed to laugh about the fact that occasionally he would do stuff like hear a loud noise while he was asleep, then yank my mom out of bed and throw her on the floor and cover her with his body before he was fully awake. I mean seriously, what can you do but laugh? (and be sure the bedroom has thick carpet . . .)

It was a part of his life that he couldn’t get away from, so we all accepted it right along with him and tried to love him through it as best we could. Jungle cat is funny. I think I recognize that look in his eyes.

I have my own post-traumatic obsessions, and it irritates me to see people playing their weaknesses (or someone else’s) for power, to guilt others into doing what they want.

Personally, I thought it was anticlimactic to click on a link to a “controversial” picture and find this. I was expecting graphic violence and gore. I don’t think the picture is poking fun at vets, but at the kitteh’s expression. I’m all for reinstating the picture to the front page, purely for aesthetics.

I wonder what reaction you would get if instead of ‘Nam Cat it was Acid Cat? “That pic offends me as an old hippy”?
