On an off topic: Please, all my fave peeps, remember my Gunther-man (dobe) in your thoughts and prayers. He had a botched surgery three weeks ago and wound up having his leg bone open to the air with a hole the size of a half-dollar. He had surgery (at another vet!!!) yesterday and is mostly “OK”, but him hurt so much. (prognosis is good, tho) I’m about to go get him a second Rx of ‘happy pills’ right now. Thank you so much. This is where I’ve been doing for the last month- sometimes not feeling so LOL, but you peeps make me feel all teh gud. (hug) shaun

This picture is very troubling and I don’t believe it should ever have been passed to the voting page. The setting seems to be SE Asia. Do you think the treatment of these captive animals is regulated? It seems unlikely. Clearly the walrus in the picture has been trained, but the species was hardly bred for domesticity, and in the West entertainment uses such as we see here would be limited to quasi-educational settings that are closely regulated. This walrus is probably going to be dead within weeks. This picture disgusts me.
