Same here, Teho. My afghan is in yellows, oranges, browns, and white and in that same ripple pattern. We lost our Maw Maw this April. She tried to teach me how to crochet when I was a kid, but I didn’t have the patience then. Wish I’d listened to her now…not only is it a favorite pasttime, but I’d be really really good at it if I’d been doing it since I was eleven! Needless to say, this afghan complete with its 70s color scheme is a prized possession.

So, please forgive the off-topic comment, but there is something I’ve been wondering for a while (and this Kitty o’Love seemed like an appropriate place to finally ask). Several weeks ago, someone named leaf said that this site is a good place for people to come “to fix sore insides.” (Wonderful phrase!) I’ve been reading a lot lately about the nature of inner peace and enlightenment and stuff like that, and all the books agree that a way to diminish one’s suffering is to realize that everyone else in the world is suffering too, and to have compassion for everyone you meet. My question is, how many of us come here to fix our sore insides? (I know I do.)

Hay! I only meant dat if sumone be lukking down their nose at me and criticising me an my frenz, dey should be veri veri careful nawt to be makin mistakes themownselves. One of my kitturz nearlymost cured my depreshin.
I had had badddd relapze (had bad drugz problem wen i wuz younger, den stoppeded, but got REEELY depressdified an stedda gettin REEL meds, got da old-fashioned self-meddicating kind. Bad plan.) an wuz tryin to get straytened out. Roomie’s frend brought bebekittur over one nite. Him boppded up to my grownup boykittur, popped him in da noze, and took over da howz. Him snorgled me an slept on my chest and purrrrrrrrrred and waz very very silly kittur. Den he growd up some, and got all “who needz hyoominz?” But he still very very silly kittur, an wen nobuddy lookin, he still sleeps on bed and givs me snorgles and smoo. An all dat snorgulation and smoo-osity maded my pression go way! No more badd drugz, still some regular-kind meds, but mostly just kittur therapy.
