I had surgery on the 18th of September (also a Tuesday) and I’ve now had percocet and vicodin and am still recuperating. I’d never had surgery before or much in in the way of painkillers and I”m 45 years old! Not too bad overall, though. Good Luck!!!!!

We hab very old kitteh been sik sinz him werez two. Him 16 now an still goin strong n gettin whatver he wants. He so used to meds, Uz just ask him to “open up” and him does it and swollows. Him gets shots too. give dem whil he sleepzin an him neber eben wakz up!
layd bak kitteh is v layd bak. My kitteh’s paws sweat wen we takes him to vet fur shots. First time i thowt he peed in hiz carrier (cuz of teh wetness). Nope, just sweaty paws… wood be embarrisin, sept he is much outdun by my husky mix goggie hoo iz so nervous she excreets her anal glandz (i.e. duz a lil poopy on teh floor) evrytime she gowz.
please understand, their stress is caused by picking up on your stress, even when you’re not aware of it.
try meditations and do deep breathing before you go. if you are calm, your animals are calm. if you exhude quiet confidence, they figure everything’s fine and they stress less.
of course that isn’t possible in an emergency situation, but for taking them to get shots, it’s good to focus on remaining calm. it really helps. it takes practice and patience, but it works.
of course, if you have a talker, then you will hear about it, anyway.
