Mai kitteh drown in parents pool. Waz SUCH sad day. Kitteh waz wif meh 4 many years, I luved her very much.
This good idea for hoomins wif pool and kittehs. Perhaps mah kitteh kuld have uzed lessons.
Nothing personal; just a thought on the subject, and this seems like the best place to put it.
Make sure your pool has somewhere that the cats can climb out, or at least is shallow enought that they can rest until you get back and go looking for them.
Probably doing something as simple as attaching a piece of that plastic “grass” carpet/mat to the rim of the pool and letting it dangle down below the surface of the water as well as lapping over onto the deck/patio/whatever alongside the pool would help Kitty to be able to grab hold and climb out of the water, provided that Kitty has claws. If declawed, then it might still help but you might want to add some other sort of grab-able apparatus as well. Whatever enables a wet and probably freaked-out cat to climb out of the water unaided is a good idea.

A kitteh I used to hab did dat one tyme. I wuz taykin’ bubblybaff and kitteh jumped into tub den nearly ran on water to get owt again! Sumhao she manijjed to get owt wivowt gettin wet awl ober.
Uvver kitteh (her sister) came in anuvver tyme wen I wuz taykin’ bubblybaff and layed on syde ov tub awl relaxed, and danglin’ her tayle in water. Tip ov tayle got awl wet, but kitteh didn’t eben notice, and wen she did notice, she didn’t care. Water was warm.
