I’m going to try to stay away from my usual trollish biatching about reruns, and just instead try a new line of trollish commentary:
This one just doesn’t “speak” to me. While the cap is kinda funneh on it’s own, it really doesn’t go with the pic. There’s nothing about the kitteh’s facial expression or body posture to fit.

I think the problem lies in how much work this site must be…. Maybe just no time to cull for repeats. Maybe people with kitteh pics need to load them into the cheezburger factory so people have new photos to work with. I would rather not see repeats, myself, but I would rather see a repeat than have Cheez and Tofu spend the time culling the photos from the voting site when they could be spending the time going through the new submissions.

What is everyone’s beef with using the same picture with a different caption????
If it was the same photo with the same caption, yeah, it’s a rerun. But a new caption means that someone thought of something else funny to say.
Why is that a problem?
Seriously, do you really think people should have to trawl through all the hundreds of archived posts to make sure someone hasn’t already used the photo? And then post their new comment there? Where nobody will see it?
Agree w the Pie. Plus, those who are submitting burgerz often have *no way* of knowing whether/how the pic has been used before. Pix don’t reach the voting page for weeks — you submit a cap, then discover days/weeks later that other people have used the same pic w different (maybe better) cap.
Those who don’t like repeats of pix could scroll to the next pic?

Thirded. A different cap is very likely to send me off in a different direction, and there’s a good chance that the first one won’t be that perfect that a different cap isn’t at least as good too.
