Doesn’t bother me, whichever way. Right, left or middle, I think we will get used to it, eventually. I think going to the 600 pixel width is important.
My only suggestion is that if you can, it would be nice to make the “Who be Talkin” list longer. Sometimes I have to leave the computer for a while (gasp!) and I miss a post from someone I enjoy reading.

OMG Marie. That was the best suggestion ever. It was what I wanted when I didn’t even realize I wanted it! I read this and thought to myself “how did I not think of that?!?”. 5 burgers to joo! And a millyun burgers to teh Burgers for making it happen already! It’s just like magic!

strange as it may seem, now that I’ve seen the two, I think I liked having the pics on the right and ads on the left–on my PC anyway, the pics and posts are dangerously close to being clipped off the left side of the Internet
Center would be my first choice, but this layout with the photos on the left is acceptable, too, because at least I don’t have to scroll to see them.

After initial shok wear off, I suspect this will be recignized as a less cluttered, more kitteh-centric design.
left is far and away better than right. I think I liked centered, the way it was at first, best – having the ads and everything side by side makes it all blur together
does anyone else wish there was tighter default line spacing, with less generous margins at the top and bottom of posts? I always shrink the text WAY down – otherwise, I’d be scrolling FOREVER. (which is why I bold stuff – so I can see it at small font sizes)

It could be this machine, but I get way too many issues with comments displaying over their timings to want tighter spacing. Scrollbars and wheels were invented for dealing with long.
I get that too, but then it corrects itself?
Sometimes, which is obviously a loading/code running issue, but not always. I could try a refresh, but that seems likely to run the code again, and that seems to take a while.

Ads left, kittehs center, bizznez on da rite. or like (was it stend?) said, mix up the ad holes and the news holes in the two verticals left and right. but whatever you do, I lurvz you!
Works great for me as it is now. Kittehs to left, ads to right.
What was an issue was 2 columns of ads, and kittehs below them, cos that just looked borked.
Yes! Az long az Iz can see all 3 columns, doesn’ matter. When Kitteh picktur at bottom I thought it was borked too. LOVE the longer “who be talking” list – gud to C who is on.

Center would be better, but for me, here on the left is OK, too. I REALLY didn’t care for it on the right (though that would never stop me from reading it. And thanks for adding more “who be Talkin’.” Nice feature. I have a widescreen iMac, so haven’t been having too many problems.
I’ve been a fan of your site for months – since March, at least. I read it daily and it never fails to make my day brighter, AND it adds to my lifespan (as we all know, each LOL adds minutes!) . I find the site easier to appreciate when the pictures are on the left of the screen. When the picture is on the right, I often have to scroll to the right to see it. Annoying, but not so very insurmountable.
I have yet to see the picture appear in the middle. Or maybe that’s just bad memory talking?
How long have you been on for? we’re talking about a screen re-organisation that’s been running for the last week or so just, Before that it was ads on left kittehs centred and site business, navigation etc on right.

OK: so following that train of thought, seperating the ads from the site map by centering the lolcats makes the design clearer, which makes the ads more inviting?

My vote: Kittehs in the center, ads on left, site-stuff on right OR ads and site-stuff mingled right and left. Some people make a practice not to look at ads, but if you’re looking to see who’s commenting and an ad grabs your eye, because it’s not in a Designated Ad Space, then that’s a potential clickthrough.
But I think having the main pictures in the center makes for a more balanced look, and is easier on the eye of the viewer.
I have been clicking the ads, by the way, and finding good stuff out there! Hope it helps. There’s always a kink or two, but it’ll all settle into something beautiful and profitable soon!
