Uuuurgh. I has a confession. I just used my first glue trap. Mices kept eating the peanut butter off the regular kind. Put the little dude outside still on the trap cuz I couldn’t get himz off and the squealins was upsetting meh. I is goin to hellz.

Elizabells: There is a kind of very VERY humane mousy-kill device, is like $20, it ‘lectrocutes them very fast and humanely. Takes lots of AA batteries.

I lives in NYC, so I can’t set them free bc it’s illegal and also wouldn’t solve anything. I’d tewtally take ‘em out into the forest or sumthin if I could. Thx for the tip about the zappy traps. I also read somewhere that, as gross as it sounds, putting the trap w/ mousie in a sealed baggie (so’s they get high and pass out) is nicer than letting ‘em starve. I dunno. I feel all icky inside.
There is an even moar hoomane way to get rid of the lickle mousies. Promise!
There is a device which is about the size of a plug and plugs into any ordinary electrical plug socket. You can buy these devices from any pet store in UK (so you must be able to get them in US too) and on the internets. They work by emitting a very very high pitched noise which only the mousies can hear (does not bother humans, cats or dawgs, but does bother other rodent like creatures such as LOLhamsters, LOLgerbils etc) and the mousies **hate** the noise. It drives then away, so they not come back, and not poop in your stove no moar. You just plug the device in and it takes about 2 weeks for the mice to get the message that the noise is not going away and that they are not wanted, but they never bother you again after that.
I used this in my kitchen after many mousies had party in my kitchen when I went on holiday. Mousies all gone now.
Costs about £10 in England, I guess that is $20 US.

Elizabells: that is correct, is varee much moar humane. The zappy traps are teh awzum, my mom swears by them – there’s a little light that shows if it’s been set off… u just dump it out, no problem, and it’s very very humane, just stops their lil’ hearts and that’s that.
u could also get a pet snake… but nobody really likes that idea except me. Pet snake loose in the house is probably 100 times more effective than any mousetrap.

I like the snake idea too. I used to have a boa constrictor that I fed mice to. You could get a nice black snake or a fox snake and let them live in your couch springs.

I uzez glootrapz but I check dem evree day and kilz any stuck meeses kwik so dey not sufferz. Iz hard, but iz responsiblz. Dey eetz my bredz and seereeals and pooz on my kownterz. Not Want!
if u can find them, I think D-con makes a round trap that u wind up and put bait in the middle. Teh mowsie goes inside through a little hole in the side and when they trip it, something spins around inside REAL fast and mowsie doesn’t know what hit them. Nice thing about them is that they are very difficult to set off accidentally, so almost no chance of false alarm. Plus, once they go off u just throw teh whole thing away. Kind of pricey for a one-use trap, but if you don’t liek seeing teh ded mowsie, it may be wurth it to u.
I had particularly good luck with a clamshell-type trap. very easy to set, and hard to snap ur fingers with. Trigger is fairly sensitive, too–and u can put teh bait way on the back of the trigger so mowsie pretty much has to climb on trigger to get to fud.

I cant find fakemouse with bunnyfur to bai for my kitteh. I buyed some on Ebay, but they weres too small (about the width of my thumb and 2″ long). I wuz fraid she would choke on tinymice, so they are still in teh package. So she only has one old, well-tortured mouz to play wit. She keeps loozing Mickey in the middle of the nite and criez. And I has to gets up and finds mouz. No good furmize in Canada.
Get sum roving or carded wool, and a felting needle. Take da roving, make a shape, an poke it, poke it poke it wif da felting needle. You can make your own mousies wif it!! Or Google needle felting. Also check ebay, they sell kits and parts an stuff.
Or you can get felt skwayres frum a craft store an sew up a mousie wif catnip and batting inside!
But yesh, even frum Petco iz hard to find bunnyfur micies…
