This is so cute and having two cats I can tell you that they seek each other out and rather lay curled up together in a box that we left in the living room then lay on the sofa which is completely empty and besides has anyone ever tried to get a cat into something he doesn’t want to get into… I know it’s a disaster to get them to the vet in bench that is twice their size so I doubt anyone can recreate this even if they tried because cat nr1. would be out of the jar in the blink of an eye and getting cat nr 2 in there is something totally different.

cats LIKE to squeese into small spaces, and are obviously doing on their own, and not in a staged manner. I’ve seen my own cats do things like this all the time. there is absolutely nothing wrong with them doing it on their own

While it does resemble that horrid hoax, cats get themselves in the oddest places with out our encouragement. Seems like a perfectly normal case of taking a picture of one cat’s oddity and happening to be on hand for the other.

What’s funny is the jar looks more cramped than it is because it’s an old-fashioned candy store jar and they showed it from the top in all but the last pic. If you look at the last one it is obviously not that tight of a fit. 4 kittens might be cramped, but two is just cozy!

I have owned more cats than any other pet, and I can assure you they will CRAWL, CRAM, CRUNCH, COMPRESS, COMPACT, CROWD AND CONGEST themselves into places one would never imagine possible. Its a constant source of entertainment to see what they can maneuver themselves into this time. To even suggest that a human has the ability to put an unwilling cat into that jar isnt only laughable but simply insane. The feline creatures only perform acts of their own choosing, we simple humans have no control over them.

If you think the photographer put the cats in there, you obviously have never owned a cat. Cats crawl into every small space they can fit into. Mine likes to curl up in a little cubby i have in my desk, which seems much too small for my big kitty to fit in, but she manages it anyways. Just because she can. No treats in the cubby, no toys, nothing. Just a cubby of wood. And she goes in there because she can.
Cats do this ALL THE TIME.
I am not a registered animal professional, but all you need to be one is to own cats and understand them. I foster kittens, and i have learned a way to teach cats and rats live together in harmony.
If only humans could live the same…

Luks 2 me like one kitteh was sittin midin his own kitteh biznez and other kitteh got jeluss and climbed in the jar, but sadly for kitteh numba two there wuz not enuff room. Not aboosiv, I dun think any kittehs were harmed in teh makin of dis lolcat.
Well, maybe kitteh numba two was emotionally harmed becuz he cud not fit in teh jar.

Hey, the cats went in their own accord. I’ve owned several cats throughout my life and they have squeezed in spaces several time smaller than their own body size, ‘specially outdoor cats.

The cats would be clawing, scratching, in panic if they would be mistreated. The pictures would be blurry, they’d be going nuts at the jar. Which is open, btw. The white cat walked in it.

Our two cats do that here alllll the time, too.

Why the hell would people be worried about these cats anyway. Cats are pretty much able to fit in a tight space with no problems. Seeing as their spine can almost let them bend themselves in half (which is natural, theres like no explanation of strain to talk about) I’m sure that being in that jar is not problem. I mean my cat sleeps in some of my desk draws that are only about 8 inches wide. Shes fully grown and she gets in and out of the draws, boxes, a computer case (yes, strangely enough both my cats like to hang out inside of an empty computer case that I have sitting on my floor). I mean its not like the photographer took the cats and wrapped them in a plastic bag or stuck them in a vice grip.

I agree with the rest, they did that themselves. I have had cats getting into thight spaces on purpose many, many times.
If, however, you try to push them into a cramped place, you will not have the possibility to let go of them and take a picture, they will of course escape (and probably cut you up until you let go). And if you still would manage somehow, they would be screaming their little hearts out, not looking calmly out at the camera.
People see something wrong in everything that can be found on the internet. And most people seem to take it as a personal insult as well.

Well, I also found the picture a bit distressing,
it would have been better to also show a picture that they got out.

I’m surprised how many people think that it matters “that they got in there voluntarily”. Animals cannot be blamed when they get trapped in human objects by their “own fault”.

I guess the photographer got them out after taking the pictures, but I wouldn’t have waited so long.

Really, they love it, and if they didnt want to be in there they would just leave. They dont look like they are disliking their little cozy see through world there. Its just like when they were kittens, all balled up in a kittenmass to keep warm
