Evry tiem I tries to give blood for da past yeer or so, dey tells me I not gots enuff iron and need to be takes iron supplemeants. I be liek “I’s only a leetle anemic! U can has mah blood! I’s O-pawsitiv! Rly, taek it I dun need it.”
Den da Red Cross sends me lettrs dat sayz “We needs O donorz! U shud donayt!” an I go “Well mebbe if’n u taked mah blood da last tiem I tried den u wuddnt need so much nao, wood u?”
O wellz. I try again in coupla weaks.

I’m not allowed to donate because I lived in Europe in the 80s (military). They haven’t even tested to see if I have the antibodies or whatever it is for the CJS (essentially the human version of mad cow disease) but because there was contaminated beef in Europe for a while, anyone who lived there during a certain period of time is automatically banned. I’ve thought about just lying and donating anyway, but I’d never forgive myself if I DID wind up exposing someone to such a horrible disease. Le sigh.

to you guiz that worry cuz you kant give the blud, when i was cadet in skool they made us all go to formation and marched us down and the blood banks come and drawed our blud. they did this every couple months, making sure we gave the lots of blood. every year i dids this, giving my A+ blood (cept for when the irons were low cus i didn’t eats my spinach.)

Whens I remembers, I might pop an extra vitamyn or two da dey befur.
