no, unfortunately it’s not a generational thing, I’m 18 and my sister is eleven and we have both played that stupid game.

a hint: if you are really really bored, go hunting, it is the only marginally exciting part of the game, this also means you have plenty of food so it works out very well, I don’t remember the grisly deaths but I do remember once losing a wagon on a raft, and then deciding to try to ford it with the other wagon, but I can’t remember if that worked or not, in all likelyhood it didn’t, that game was horribly malicious and would kill you off quickly if it could

p.s. I never got to oregon, but I did live there while I was playing the game so it all worked out.
