I was once so drunk that I lost seven hours of my life.

Given that I was 21 at the time, and have since grown beyond the need for such pedantic behavior, but the fact remains that I cannot recall what I was doing in those seven hours, though there are pictures to prove I was mobile and interacting with my surroundings.

As for my disagreement with Dianetics, I would say the largest part of it comes from the theory’s inability to accept that medication is sometimes necessary to salve chemical imbalances within the human brain. As much as I’m sure L. Ron Hubbard was a brilliant man (and not just a mediocre science fiction writer trying to find his way among giants), he apparently had little to no understanding of the chemical composition of the gray matter that sits between our ears. To that end, I am NOT willing to let some crackpot short-story writer tell me what I should and shouldn’t be doing with my body.

The whole, “Xenu/Thetan,” thing is a little out there, too. Because, you know, shards of alien soul-matter making my life terrible isn’t just as far-fetched and unbelievable as every other major religion in the world.

i readed dis thread aftpurr i posted some ob my othfur comments (eithfur in dis naym or my more colorful one) but it be purrfect. i not tink we hab eny idea how much we, as a speshies, do NOT know yet….

we decided long ago dat since no one can proov OR disproov da eggsitense ob da rainbow bridge, dat we’ll just go ahed and beleef in it and create it da way we want it.

no allergies, no meen-spiritedness, lots ob play and dood fud, and dood furriends of all sizes and kinds and colors.

resq furriends and i laff about how we gonna be mugged when it our turn to go: not just frum our own BridgeKits meeting us, but, wif cries of, “wait, she were OUR foster mom!”, “no, i liffed wif her fur monfs afore you wuz eben borned!” and all da, “oh, oh, she droved us dat day on da transpurrt dat tooked us to our fureber home!” and, “oh, so DAT’S whut she looks like! kinda weerd, but we heerd she made 75 calls in 36 hours to keep us from dying…..”
