I don akshully file my hoam librry by Dewey, but I do sort by sujekt and author.
(non-fikshun downstrs and in offis, fikshun upstrs in bedrm)

I’m not a librarian, but have worked in ‘em , done research, read, had jobs, etc etc. In the library of one institution (a conservatory) where I was a grad student there was a resident campus cat (actually his humans were a block off campus). The kitteh’s name was “Daphnis” (and his roommate kitteh was Chloe, the two being named afer an opera). Daphnis prowled round the campus, into the president’s office while meetings were in session, into recitals (went up the aisle of the recital hall, jumped on the stage, and made himself comfy under the piano while it was being played!), and into the library. In the library he wandered around on the tops of the stacks and sometimes wouldl find a nice napping place on a shelf. In the archive of old scores he would go on expotitions and come out with cobwebs, dust, and tiny flakes of distintegrating paper on his fine orange (of course!) coat. Eventually Daphnis was featured in the yearbook!

Um – this is one totally unrelated post but have just seen this video and it is one of the most intensely animal rights short vids ever. Not for everywun. Someone in the comments notes that it is more effective and powerful than anything that they have seen from PETA and i fully agree.
