Yesh, but as Catservant sed above, meny peeps don’ unnerstand how hard it is to lose a furry one. So I tink is importan to find peeps who unnerstands.

I always thought companies should let you take mourning days for pets, as well as family members. I mean, my puppehs have always been family members.

Yes, Flartus, u can do much to make ur fren feel btr, speshly since so many peeples not unnerstand, say “It jus a kittteh.” When I had to put down the best doggeh in the whirled becuz of bone cancer, three of the bes hyumans frenz in the whirled took me to dinneh and dreenks, yes, meny dreenks, an we all sherd kitteh and doggeh storees, and we laft and cried and I felt so much betr!

I kinda agrees with the above, though wondering if it would take away from the original purpose of ICHC. Maybe we could have link to another section where peeps could share their stories of loss and (more importantly) the memories of good times and also what helped them to get over the tough times.
One thing I have learned recently (for other reasons) is that when it comes to grief, let yourself grieve. Let the emotions run thier course. Don’t be surprised if months or even years from now they pop up again and the tears flow. Go ahead and let them. It doesn’t mean you’re crazy, it just means you’re passionate.

Mah own puppeh is quite old, so I have been preparing myself for a few years nao. A little moar than a year ago mai other pup got teh cancer on her jaw and after much trying to slow the progress we opted for her to go befoar it got too ugly.
Whenever teh fuzzy wuns comes into our lifes we knows dat eventually wun day we will have to say buhbye.
I wuz prepared for the day when she wouldn’t wake up, but I was in no way prepared to be teh wun to makes that decision for her. As hard as it was to say goodbye, it was even more difficult to take her to the vet and then come home with just a collar and leash (which I still have).

As strange as it sounds, one thing that helped was reading some children’s books on the subject of losing a pet. There’s a poem called “Across the Rainbow Bridge” which I have heard is good, but have not read. It’s available online if you look for it. The book I liked a lot is called “Dog heaven” (I think–close to that if that’s not exactly correct). I want to say that there is a kitteh version, too. If you are teh weepy type (not putting you down if you are) then I would avoid a book called “My dog Jack” (or maybe “our dog Jack”). It is teh tear-jerker even if you haven’t lost a pet.

I calls for extra snorgles tonights for all our fuzzy companions.

Doan’ think so–I thinks it is teh focus issue. Camera appears to be focusing on teh box in teh forground. Looks a little closer and u will see Momma kitteh hiney is in focus, but her head is in teh soft focus–little fuzzy bit.
