Hi folks, we recieved roughly 2500 emails — Please vote for your favorites — we’ll keep voting open until Monday 11:59 PST. Winning caption will be placed on to the picture, and announced Tuesday morning! Cheez? Where are all the HBO/Radar/Satellite/Parabolic Dish related submissions? There were a 150 each of these, it was very hard to choose from and we decided it might upset people if we chose one with slight variations over another… it’d be smarter to choose those that stood out and made us LOL. Our next contest shall have a picture that is a little less “obvious” for captions — it’ll really get your creative juices flowing. |

I present for your learned consideration my own pair of entries, which sadly failed to catch the burgers’ eyes. Like your fine self, I agree with the qualities listed, and strived to ensure that my own entries were up to that standard.
First entry:

Lolcat is a mad scientist, injured when a vital experiment went horribly wrong.
Second entry:

Lolcat is an ambitious boxer, out of his league. Coach thinks he’s too hurt, lolcat thinks otherwise.
David…I commend you…both were excellent…but then, what do I know?
First entry is great, matches both lolcat expression of seriousness/frustration, crazy collar visual, and background elements (being held). I give it 10 lolthumbs up. Second is great, but cat is not open-mouthed enough to be yelling, however extra points for feet/arms in boxing position.

Just a question about the prize:
What good is it if the winner doesn’t have an iPod (either “at all” or “that fits”)?
Just something that crossed my mind
Firstly, we hope that all the people who submit a caption think their submissions are funny. We are just trying to facilitate a bit of entertainment and foster a little ICHC community involvement. If you don’t want the prize, give to a friend as a gift, put it on ebay, i dunno — buy a new ipod? lol
IMHO, the idea for a sponsor was hatched back in March. I approached incase to sponsor us because they blogged about us on their site — what can I say, we love fans, and I am always reading our trackbacks/responses via technorati. Following my contact with them, we took a poll and then used the information in the poll to determine a good prize from their inventory that would be relevant to the most people– majority of responders had desktop computers — but incase doesn’t have desktop computer cozy’s, lol, so we took the #2 voted item (an item I won’t yet mention) and a neo prene ipod wrapper — many folks have this.
What I would love to do is have a pet (cat/dog) company sponsor a contest… these steps are in the works and will be much more interesting and rewarding for our pet lovers here.

If you want, I can talk to my uncle about having a PetSmart sponsor a contest of yours. He’s a manager out in Washington state, and I’m sure he’d be happy to.
