that’s a female cat… male cats can’t have orange and black in their fur. and if by some extremely rare (like, more rare than a blue chicken with fangs that says moo) chance a tom does have orange and black, he will be sterile or have some severe defect.

Calico cats are almost always female b/c both red-color and black-color are dominant on X chromosome. (Girl kitteh has XX, therefore can exhibit both black + red, Boi kitteh has XY, so can be EITHER black or red)….. HOwever, kitteh can have XXY chromosome (making it a boi kitteh but sterile) and one X carries red and one X carries black

or can be mutant “chimera” kitteh where two kittens attach their placentas so close together that they just grow into one kitten instead of two…. and it can be one black boi kitteh and one red boi kitteh and grow together to make one black-and-red boi kitteh… but in that circumstance, the kitteh would only pass on ONE of the genetic markers (either black or red) depending on which kitten’s DNA ended up in the cells of the testes.
