New Sponsorship
As many of you have noticed, we’re experimenting with a new sponsor, Blogads. They requested three days of data, so their adblock has been hanging out on the side of the page. For some of our viewers, this requires them to scroll to the right to see the post. We are working to resolve this issue via a redesign of the sponsorship column.
Also, I’ve gone through and cleaned up the ads from within posts and comments as we migrate to the new left panel format. We’re hoping that consolidating into one location will help us keep the advertising relevant, while still helping us support (bills!) and grow the site (merch ;)) in an effective manner. The great thing about Blogads is we’ll get to screen each advertiser on the sponsorship sidebar, so eventually there’ll be no more “Are you feeling Emo?” ads like the ones Google shows :-X (don’t believe me? go look!)

And teh goolgly adds wuz so bad sumtime. Two what ran side x side morfed together, first say “Buy X face cream get rid of wrinkles”, second say “Jezuz Christ the Son of God”. End up together;
“Buy X Jezuz face cream, get rid of Christ wrinkles Son of God.” Don’t hear that in church everi sundey mornin’! (Googly not got no relijuns. tut tut)

Yes geoff we’re phasing out adsense as blogads takes hold…
eventually moving any ads to the left side of the page. I might not of been clear enough in the post above.
We’re transitioning and won’t cut out of one primary while moving to the other as primary while keeping adsense as backup — we still has bills to pay.
That blogads block is showing a “Are you emo? Take the emo quiz!” on the front page for me right now. I run google ads on my own sites and I wouldn’t be so sure that blogads is going to do a better job for you.
So you’re going to have ads on the left side, LOLcontent in the middle, and site navigation on the right side?
AUGH. DO NOT WANT TO SCROLL TO SEE MAH LOLSTUFF.
As I mentioned in Chz’s corner, I would hit that SUPPORTS US button if you put ads AND site navigation on ONE SIDE, and leave rest for LOLcontent.

well if your site is popular enough why dont you take advertising into your own hands or get a website to sponsor some kind of competition with free goods.
