Merchandise is a great idea- as far as the legal stuff, you’d be best off using pics that people made themselves and gave you rights to. I’d be happy to hand over rights on photos if I had any you wanted.

Cafepress is okay, but their selection is kinda lame- no black shirts, etc. There’s a site called Zazzle (http://www.zazzle.com) that you can design your own stuff and they sell it, but you’d only get a small percentage of the money. The selection of merchandise is great, though.

Anyway- keep up the great work, guys- you RULE. :)

Raquel, you’re on the right path. Because many of these pictures aren’t our photos, animals, or caption work (hope you’re not surprised, we gather and sift through A LOT). This brings up a very interesting legal concern from us at ICHC. How can we consciously print a t-shirt with a picture we didn’t “work” (in the legal sense) to create? Granted we’ve helped make a large amount of humor available and generated interest it still isn’t right.

Me, tofu, and teri has talked about this and we’ve come up with some creative, smrt, and honest ideas about how to not steal other peoples work and provide well-designed, copyright non-violating merch. :)
