For comparison and contrast, yes, that picture was necessary to a small percentage of the cheeseburger audience (peepul lik me). My family raised me as a dog person; I did not live with a kitteh until one chose me “decades” later. Everybody I knew either had a gurlcat or a neutered male.
Seriously, I had to call the vet and ask how to tell if the cat was a boi or gurl. I truthfully did not know “what to look for at a cat’s anatomy.”
The vet said drape the cat over your shoulder and look under their tail while standing in front of a mirror, and I would see “something” or “nothing.”

I have seen bigger however, and those would be on the father of my Greybeard! The father (same blue coat) was spotted before and after Greybeard was born. I never got even close to try to pick him up, but he had to be 15 pounds. Greybeard is a more normal 10 pound (lazy) cat.

I enjoy this site, and I don’t find the balls offensive. People need to loosen up a little. I do hope that whoever does indeed own this cat did have him neutered, to reduce the excess cat population. My 9 kitties are all neutered. Even though they’re nutless wonders, some stick act “likz de gotz em still!”

PS: I find it odd that not one person seems to think neutering a cat is a form of mutilation? Effective method of making sure your cat doesn’t impregnate a thousand others? JUST DON’T LET THEM OUTSIDE! It’s not that freaking hard. I have a cat, and she has never put a paw outside the house. And when she has gone outside it has been in my arms or on a carefully placed leash.
Not that she likes being outdoors, she hates it really.
I might be the only person that agrees with you then. I never understood why people would destroy their pets reproductive system when there are many other options available -ie like you said dont let your cat outside. And hell theres ‘the pill/shot’ for humans why not make one for cats. Then they can go outside and sex all they like with no worries to the owner.

Nicky: Seriously. I had five cats, and none of them were outside cats. The one or two times I took them outside they were like “ZOMG THIS IS A REALLY BIG SCARY ROOM I DONT LIEK IT! is it can be ‘in’ tiem now plz?”
Nicky and n4cht: I’ve had both male and female cats, altered and unaltered. Neutering and spaying is far more than just keeping the population down. Unaltered males are far more aggressive and likely to claw, bite, and fight, even their owners. And the marking of their territory is also a problem as, no matter how much you love your cat, no one loves smelling cat piss the entire time, and no amount of carpet cleaner will ever get rid of the smell, at all. Unaltered females, if not impregnated, or at least… got some action… eventually spend most of their time in heat, instead of just once monthly, or per season. A female cat in heat causes loss of sleep to the human owners (due to yowling) and is highly highly uncomfortable to the cat. (Can you imagine being so horny that you can’t think of anything else, at all, period, no matter how hard you try…. and you can’t masturbate?). Also queens can get territorial when around other unaltered queens. More so than normal.
I have two cats, now. Both were shelter cats, as I refuse to buy from a “breeder” when there are so many perfectly WONDERFUL cats in shelters. And both have been spayed. Neither of them go outside, though the kitten (6 months) is getting more curious than I’d like. The older cat… in addiction to being claustrophobic (from being in such a small cage at the shelter)… is also agoraphobic. She freezes up and trembles if taken outside at all.
My cat used to hump everything before I got him chopped XD it was hella funny. But then he started getting agressive and I had to get it done, it was a shame, I would have liked him to make kittens someday.
Well…I adopted a stray tom from the neighborhood (he showed up one day and I fell in luv!) He still has his harbls….but he doesn’t spray and he’s more loveable than my indoor kitty. I think it depends on the cat?…maybe?…any insight?

I was so trying to figure out how to get a shot of my cat for just that caption. (as he’s black, it’d be a bit hard). Dear little thing, the day of his op, I was told by the vet to keep an eye on the site, so when I’m lying in bed that night, he came and stood on my chest and showed me.
Desexing your pets is responsible. How many animals, (strays, unwanted litters) are euthanased each year? Here in Victoria (Australia), councils will from next year be requiring all registered pets to be desexed, with only those held by breeders exempt. Yes, kittens (and Puppies) are cute. Unfortunately they often get dumped at the side of the road, or worse. I found my dog on Easter Sunday morning 1997, when I was woken up by hearing her howling. I got up and went down the street and found her dumped by a car in the car yard on the corner. Obviously the people who left her there had an entire female dog, but didn’t want to keep her puppies.

I agree. My new cat Pixel (who just had her “operation” on Wednesday, so she is recovering) came from a dumpster – someone had left her to die in the SE US July heat. She was starving to death, only initially weighed a pound at an estimated 3.5-4 months. Now she is happy, healthy, and loved. As much as our family loves her, we don’t want her to have kittens because we couldn’t take care of them. Also I could never face trying to give a little kitten away to an animal shelter…I worry they wouldn’t find a good home.
I think it’s more responsible to neuter your pets and it’s been shown to improve a cat’s quality of life and lifespan, and keeps the population under control. However, if someone doesn’t neuter their cats, I’m not going to say “OMG YOU FREAK neuter your cats you irresponsible jerk!” People don’t have to neuter/spay their animals….and we can’t get TOO infatuated with the idea or we could limit the gene pool too much. But there are consequences that can come with choosing to keep your cats “intact.”
Oh, and to some of the above comments, keeping your cats indoors is not as easy as it sounds. Our other cat, Victory (in her 10th year, also spayed) LOVES to go outside, every day, for hours and hours. If she can’t go outside, she’ll just howl at the door for hours and hours. It gets old pretty quick.
my kitteh jim has most wonderful ermmmm harbls … he was nootered after becoming a big kitteh (found on streets wif other frenkitteh an taken by meee!) so he has ermmm…substantial leftovers. also teh leftovers are black with one (1!) tiny white dot in teh middles…
My cat was a stray kitten I took in, I didnt have the $ to spay her so it never got done. Shes an indoor cat. I take her out on a leash. She used to be in heat all the friggin time and she was quite aggressive but then I changed her food one day cuz someone bought food for their cat n they wouldnt eat it.. well its holistic cat food..not the friskies i usually gave her…and now shes like a completely different cat! Al I did was change her food! She stopped going into heat all the time. She turned into a seriously NICE cat…if only you could see the marked difference. And I didnt have to get her spayed. My guess is that regular cat foods have so much crap in them…hormones and what-have-you, that they effect the cats mood and everything else. Kinda like how drinking gin will produce a diff kinda drunk than drinking beer will.. ok thats a lame analogy but its all I got lol

I work at a Vet’s office and seriously doubt the food has anything to do with the lack of heat cycle. More likely its the cats age. Or ( i hope NOT) that it is some sort of “female” problem. the cat should really be checked out by your vet, just to verify there is no
“problem”
