  1. blue says:

This cat reminds me of what my own must’ve looked like as a kitten, cause he’s a whoppin’ 20lbs now. Absolutely precious!

  2. tofuburger says:

aww. run around a little, kitty. find someone with a laser pointer.

  3. That’s not “juvenile diabeetus,” that’s the look of a classic Maine Coon kitten!

  4. Karen says:

Kitteh doesn’t look fat, kitteh just looks floofy.

  5. stendhalismo says:

    kitty’s just big boned!

  6. smitty says:

I take offense to this as ‘juvenile diabeetus’ has absolutley nothing to do with how much one weighs.

  7. Jake says:

I giggle every time i see this. its that good.

  8. me says:

Smitty: YOU MUST BE FAT THEN LOL

  9. Ignatz says:

Looks like young Wilford Brimley. Hence the ‘diabeetus’ reference. (Don’t worry, I didn’t get it either until I saw the one lolcat with the picture of Wilford right beside it.) Is cuteness, teh kittah! No for to worry about diabeetuses! Only schnoogling!

  10. I’m sorry, but I really don’t get this. The cat barely looks like Wilford Brimley and I just don’t find it funny.

  11. misswheezy says:

Haha, it’s funny because it kinda looks like Wilford Brimley. I have juvenile (type one) diabetes and I giggle at it… so some of y’all should stop being so offended… yeah, the disease sucks but man, if you can find humor in something so serious you’ll be okay.

  12. mental18 says:

It is not fat! it is just like that because all of its type are born that way

  13. dreads says:

    aww that is sick
    poor cat

  14. Momeee says:

I have spent quite some time looking at this site and laughing a lot. Until I saw this. I agree with Smitty. Weight has nothing to do with Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes. My 7 year old has T1 and I am sick of explaining to people that it has nothing to do with being overweight, eating junk or lack of exercise.

Sorry, this one I just don’t find funny. This is nothing to joke about. Especially when you have to see your child go through it.

  15. girl says:

umm.. juvenile (type one diabetes) isnt the one where you are fat idiots.. thats type 2 (late onset)… they GET diabetes cause they are fat/have health problems..

im type 1 myself and when i was diagnosed i was skin and bones… thats one of the symptoms…losing alot of weight. i havent put on heaps of weight…. wtf

if someones fat is cleary cause they eat too much, are not eating the right foods, or need to exercise ffs.

  16. Jesy Joy says:

wow. that’s not funny at all.

    • matt says:

you are fail… go read a newspaper or something, cause the internet is too unsafe for you.

it’s about the beetus guy, not cause of anything else, now stfu…

  17. sweetkittyn says:

I am totally and utterly astonished how many people on this site get so horrifically bent out of shape over /jokes/. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, a joke is something designed to make you laugh. This site is full of them. There is no need to flame somebody simply because your tender morals or your psyche are offended. This poor victim of hilarity in no way put this up to be deliberately offensive to you, so please, do not ruin the experience for everybody by going off on this guy. If you do not like the picture, move on to the next one and huff to yourself, instead of actually typing it out in some tantrum.

    Thanks
    sweetkittyn

    • Momeee says:

It’s not just about “moving on to the next picture” for those who are living with Type 1 or those of us who are taking care of one of our children with Type 1. You have no idea how hard it is to educate people on the HUGE difference in the two types when we see completely ignorant stuff like this! You have no idea how it makes us feel when everyone just assumes that our kids are overweight and lazy and that’s why they have this horrible disease. Try explaining to a child, when she hears someone say something like this out loud, that it is absolutely not true. That they didn’t “eat too much junk” and they aren’t “overweight”. You should see the look in my daughters eyes when she hears these things. And yes, she has heard these ignorant comments on TV a couple of times. It breaks my heart that she has to deal with this at her age, but it’s even worse when she thinks it’s her fault!

So, Sweetkittyn, try living in my 7 year old daughters shoes for one day. Or even mine, as her mother, for that matter. And we’ll see if you can just “move on to the next picture.”

      • allycat says:

i feel for your daughter. i have type 1 too. i was diagnosed when i was 7 so yea i completely understand her pain, im 13 now. i noticed my so called friends avoided me after. i was completely destroyed. i was so scared when i was young. i thought i was gonna die since both my grandparents died of it. i was so scared but now i understand that as long as i take care of my self i’ll be alright. and if she is having problems with friends because of it tell her not to hang with them and look for friends who accept her. i found a few. and my best friend in the world completey didnt care about my disease. tragically she past away last year. we thought it was from diabetes because when she was exzamined she showed the signs of diabetes. she didnt thankfully. but understand as long as you educate her with proper eating habits and how to keep her sugar regulated she’ll be fine. does she have an insulan pump? i do and it has given me such freedom now. its like 1 shot every 3 days instead of 3-5 of them a day, or more! if she doesn’t have one talk to her diabetes doctor and see if your insurance will cover it. i love it! i can eat lots of different foods and not mind counting carbs or sugar. you can eat all the carbs and sugar you want and just put them in the pump and it will give you insulan plus automaticaly giving insulan all day like your paincrease would. i’ve grown taller and have gotten to a good healthy weight. tell your daughter i said hi and talk to your doctor about the pump. =] nice to meet ya!

    • binkycat says:

Thank you sweetkittyn. I have several illnesses/plagues etc to deal with on a daily basis. If I took offense to every time someone joked about one of them, I’d be one angry woman! Get a sense of humor lady! Nobody is saying diabetes or your child having it is funny, take a chill pill and get over yourself, you are not that important!!!!

  18. Natalia says:

some of you guys seriously have an Ann Arbor-type sense of humor.

This picture not being funny has nothing to do with the diabetes subject.

    • MomCatAnna says:

      Ohai Natalia-
U meen liek deh Peeps Republic ub Annie Arbor type sensa humor?
As in “dat’s not funnee, caomparin de citee govmnt to de Soviet Yune-yun”.

I useta lib in Annie Arbor, buts I got bettur (and gradieated) an moo-ved out to de contree-fied parts ob Meechigan.

  19. sarah says:

I have to say I agree with the dissenters on this one. I’ve had type one diabetes since I was three, and it majorly sucks. So I don’t really think this is funny. But I’m not going to stop looking at this sight or anything. I just don’t think diabetes is something to joke about.

  20. Ninjabass says:

Haha, the ads on this page are for Liberty. No way that’s an accident.

  21. Mousewolf says:

Um, scusey? I’ve had type one since I was five years old, and I still finded this funny. For the record, I was a skinny runt then and I’m a skinny runt now.

What isn’t funny is peoples who have sticks shoved so far up their asses they feel it’s their ‘duty’ to comment on a picture just for the sake of telling the submitter how crap and crass it is.

  22. Gothique says:

This is funny because right under the picture there is an ad for a free blood sugar reader from the American Diabetic Association.

  23. jewlz says:

this is kinda sad but way funny!

  24. rob says:

Let me try to explain better why some people are upset… it’s *not* because the picture makes fun of diabetics; I think people have no problem taking a joke that simply “makes fun”. But rather, the picture is *ignorant*, because it incorrectly associates being fat with juvenile diabetes, and I think one has the right to be sensitive about people spreading *ignorance* about the disease. That’s all.

FWIW, my 13 year old daughter has juvenile diabetes, and she looks like a super-model.

    • lulzburger says:

      lulz u r perv d00d

    • somebody says:

I thought the joke was that the cat looked like a younger version of the “diabeetus” cat that’s making fun of those Liberty Mutal commercials for diabetes testing supplies. So I thought it was cute and funny. Been a type 1 for 23 years, too. But if the intention is to associate fatness with type 1, that’s totally wrong. I’m just as sick of it as everybody else is. But I wonder if that really was the intention.

  25. Wyatt says:

    Remove this picture. Seriously.
I have juvenile diabetes and this is insulting and incorrect.
    Plzkthnx

    • matt says:

ok, anyone can say they have diabetes, and it’s not making fun of you or diabetes for that matter, it’s making fun of the guy who pronounced it diabeetus… …he was full of fail, and this cat looks like him. that’s it, nothing more.

  26. Wyatt says:

Yeah, 8 years of type one diabetes for me. I dont like this picture.
Sites great, pictures stupid and offensive.
If it could be taken off it would be much more appreciated by the people that don’t like it than the people that don’t care.
The most crap we take is ignorance. So just take it off.
    plzkthnx

  27. Robert says:

This picture isnt saying that if you have juvenile diabetes then you are fat…it’s a play on that annoying Wilford Brimley Liberty Medical commercial where he cant say “diabetes” right and he’s got that huge moustache

    • somebody says:

Yay, somebody agrees with my interpretation. It looks like a younger version of the “diabeetus” cat in the LOLcats making fun of those commercials. I could be wrong, though, and it might just be ignorance. I hope not, though, because I would hate to have to get offended at this. It’s so cute! (Type 1 for 23 years, FTW.)

  28. kiran says:

i have juvenile diabetes and i thought the picture was kinda cute lol

but when people leave mean comments about being fat……
especially when juvenile diabetes isn’t associated with obesity at all….
    that kind of hurts…

so please be mindful of comments like that, it’s not worth hurting
someone for 2 seconds of laughter :/

  29. David McMillan says:

I hear what the people are saying by “take joke” but perpetuating a myth that in turn causes discrimination is not a joke.

  30. dragonkitteh_leelee says:

dats not diabeetus, dats mah fluffs!

  31. dragonkitteh_leelee says:

    kyoooooooot

  32. Twilit says:

I resent that. I have juvenile diabetes and am not in the least bit fat. You’re thinking type 2.

  33. michf98 says:

i’m offended!! XD I have juvenile diabeetus!!!

  34. Kat says:

OMG!!! its the kitteh verzion of mee!!!!
