No, the cat didn’t choose to be locked inside a house its entire life. He did not choose to be fed Whiskas or some other form of ground up corn with a nutritional value equivalent to a human eating mcd every single day. He isn’t, naturally, supposed to not get any exercise. It doesn’t matter if it’s photoshopped, animals like this do exist, and this sort of stuff is very very sad.

Please, please remove it.

Wait–isn’t it the cat’s fault that it is overweight? It is funny how when people are overweight we tend to blame them for it, but when pets are overweight we blame the owners. That is like blaming the supermarket for being obese…Yeah, the owners could have restricted the cat’s food intake, but it is up to the cat to eat or not. The cat didn’t have alot of self-control, and now it is overweight.

My brother has diabetes, and he isn’t fat at all. He found this pic an inch offensive, because of all those stereotypes that think people with diabetes have to be fat, besides that, he even laughed a bit.

But if this cat is really that fat… maybe he’s old and lazy? Still, PUT IT ON A DIET, WHOEVER YOU ARE

Yea, i suppose people who have it or know people who hav it would find this funny, because otherwise everything would just be really depressing :/ . But really, laughing at this for the fun of teasing an overweight cat is prdy heartless. Think about it, if your mum started feeding u more food then u could chew, then she takes u to the doctor saying to u that she never did anything to hurt u, but then the doc says that u are seriously overweight and ur mum gets taken to court for animal cruelty and you over hear exactly how long u hav to live… wouldn’t u hate it if somebody posted a picture of u on the internet showing all of ur embarrasing curves that ur now extremely ashamed of. The next day you see somebody on the computer, you look over their shoulder to see what their looking at, u see yurself, u see the comments… a huge part of u dies inside…

This is not funny, not because of the fact that it says “diabetes type 2″ but because of the fact that the poor cat is so overweight. Try putting a photo of a really fat person and then adding the text “diabetes type 2″ see if that’s offensive.. You’re not offended because you’re prob not that fat and you’re not in the photo.

Having been a fat cat owner, and after losing him:
There are many reasons why this can happen, a good number of them genetic, and some related to what we all know can happen to male cats after neutering. My boy weighed 22 pounds and did not overeat, nor was he overfed. He was just one of those unfortunate cats whose metabolism did not function well. At age 15, he started to lose weight after being placed on a prescribed older cats’ diet, and developed hyperthyroidism. Diabetes II, insulin twice a day? Easy peasy compared to what a damaged thyroid can do. If I had known what was going to happen to him during the course of that illness (about 17 months), I would have had him put to sleep immediately, rather than try to “manage” that disease. He’s been gone almost a year and I can’t bring myself to get a cat again, just knowing what the end can be for them.

hey we could personalize this for myself – Kitteh has rheumatic arthritis and is on steroidal medication and antidepressants that both make kitteh gain weight

I agree, my mother is a diabetic (Type II)…she totally brought it on herself. Her diet is terrible, even though she knows she needs to eat better to avoid complications. She refuses any help, won’t take advice, and contiues to eat herself into an early grave. So, all that is left to do is laugh about it…that, or go crazy. Oh, and by the way, anyone who makes broad generalizations about people shows ignorance, too.
