  1. justin says:

ROFL owned on type 2 diabeetus

  2. Sirapz says:

I always cry when I see this picture : / the cats eyes are so sad… and the body’s huge. Damn the owner. : /

  3. Katt says:

LMAO. I always make fun of the guy on that commercial.

  4. anonymus says:

    Oh god.

    This is fucking scary D:

  5. dulcinea47 says:

I actually had a diabetic cat, and I don’t find fat cats cute or funny anymore, I just worry for them.

    • me says:

I AGREE WITH U……AND ANYONE WHO MAKES FUN OF DIABETICS (CAT OR NOT) SHOWS IGNORANCE!!

      • you says:

pfff…whatev, my dad has diabetes he makes fun of it more then anyone. he calls insulin pig juice.

and as the owner of a fat cat, they are hilarious

        • beatchu says:

ha lol i thought it was cow juice, im diabetic and idc

          lolcats ftw

        • Orion says:

I agree, my mother is a diabetic (Type II)…she totally brought it on herself. Her diet is terrible, even though she knows she needs to eat better to avoid complications. She refuses any help, won’t take advice, and contiues to eat herself into an early grave. So, all that is left to do is laugh about it…that, or go crazy. Oh, and by the way, anyone who makes broad generalizations about people shows ignorance, too. ;-)

    • nobodee says:

but if they aren’t cute or funny, why are you on LOLcats?!?

  6. alli says:

the eyes are… not sad. and this is obviously a fake picture.
    chill out, sirapz.

    • neb says:

Actually, I’ve known a couple of really fat cats…so fat they could barely walk. They weren’t this big, though…so it could be photoshopped…you can believe it’s photoshop, but I find it more likely that the owner fed their cat a bunch of fatty meats, tuna, cheeses, and assorted table scraps. Poor cat…probably does have diabetes.

    • mafme says:

This isn’t photoshopped– there are a number of different photos of this cat around. S/He is world-renowned for fatness.

  7. sera says:

this is not funny at all.

  8. halp! says:

    =(

    n0t funn3h at all..

    • no one says:

I don’t particularly love it either, but let me just say that no one would take you seriously when you type that way

  9. sparklypoof says:

That poor cat. What the heck was his owner thinking?

  10. mental18 says:

this is messed up. What is wrong with the owner?!

  11. Lily Kitteh says:

Fake picture or not, overfeeding a cat is cruel. Does anyone agree?

  12. dreads says:

    bro not funny a bit..

  13. zomg says:

Wait… I’m confused. Is this a cat shot or a walrus shot?

  14. Semtia says:

ok i work at an animal shelter and i can tell you no this is not a fake picture. and we have gotten cats this big turned in before and let me tell you. cats this big do not live very long and they have a small chance of adoption. so ya dont over feed your cat!

  15. abus3-m3-n0-m0r3 says:

The poor feline… Why do people over-feed their cats? It’s not a laughing matter and I really don’t think making fun of over-weight cats and peoples with Diabetes is funny. It’s mean. It’s not funny at all. *cross arms* So that’s my opinion.

  16. flagsdown says:

so am i evil/cold hearted because when i first saw this picture i laughed, don’t get me wrong, i do feel bad for the cat but i still laughed the first time i saw this picture.

  17. one_allicat says:

Actually not very funny. I own a diabetic cat, but he is not nearly that obese. It’s not fun knowing he will die unless he gets insulin twice a day – everday! Changed my life forever. If you care about your cat, try not to let this happen!

  18. one_allicat says:

Not funny. I have an awesome cat who is diabetic, but he’s not nearly that obese. It’s not cool knowing he will die if he doesn’t get his insulin every 12 hours – every single day! If you care about your pets (cats or dogs), try not to let this happen! It changed my life.

  19. Ivona says:

Oh my gosh, how sad! I hope this kitty recovers!

  20. mr.b says:

oh my god that hurt my sides lawling so hard

  21. Kathy says:

I agree — not funny. The poor cat can’t even move. I too had a diabetic cat. He’s gone now, but he was great. I got him after his previous people turned him very fat — they thought he looked so cute. When he developed diabetes, they took him to the vet to be euthanized! The vet gave him to me. He had to have insulin twice a day and developed some complications along the way.

I love this site and the photos — but fat cats (and dogs) are not funny.

  22. Kitty muffin says:

    cats can get diabetes?
    how sad. :(
i learned bout it in skewl 2day
but i never thought a cat could get it
    my cuz’s cats overweight
    30+ lbs
    sooo sad. ;(

  23. lol says:

    this picture is hysterical xD

  24. Victoria says:

HA!!!!! Time to carve the turkey…….er…….cat!

  25. Leroy says:

Loosen up, people, it’s a joke! AIDS isn’t funny either, but I’ve laughed at Dave Chappelle making jokes about AIDS. If you don’t think Wilford Brimley’s pronunciation of ‘diabetes’ isn’t funny either, then you really need to loosen up ;)

    • Thea says:

I have had type I diabetes since I was 8 years old, due to a mysterious genetic fluke and not overweight… I am always amused/disturbed by various radio commercial presenters’ weird pronunciation of the word “diabetes.” Wilford Brimley’s pronunciation is particularly strange and funny, and there’s another commercial where some guy says DIE-abetes, emphasizing the first syllable waaaay too much, thereby creeping me out. Anyway, my diabetes has caused some difficulties throughout my life, and sometimes is very frustrating to deal with, yet when I saw the macros of the Brimley lookalike cats, I laughed really f%cking hard. This photo here is obviously photoshopped… just look closely. I still find it funny, though, and edifiying… yes, a big kitty like this would almost definitely be diabetic! Good god! Hopefully this silly pic can gently remind us to take better care of ourselves to avoid type 2 diabetes and its complications (sadly, nothing can be done to avoid the type that I have).

If you cannot find humor in the challenges life throws your way, your life is going to be harder than it really needs to be. Giggling at people’s inability to correctly pronounce “diabetes” and silly pictures of kittycats has brightened a good deal of tough days for me, and I’m grateful for that. Not everyone has to find this stuff funny, but I’m glad that I do.

      • Mark says:

I completely agree, I’m a type I diabetic like you and I love every one of the diabetes cats, they remind me not to take my disease too seriously, which is not easy to do with a life-long chronic condition.

Chill out folks and let us insulin lovers enjoy our lols.

  26. burny says:

    lulz

i hope he was able to get his diabeetus testin’ supplies.

  27. Type II says:

Not funny. I myself am diabetic and it was genes that did it not overweight. Go ahead and make fun you idiots, just like grammer school where others always think less of people or in this case a cat, who is less fortunate.

I really like this site but this pic I could have done without…. not to mention the uninformed idiotic comments.

  28. ME says:

    Does your cat have… DIABEETUS?

  29. Luvr Kitteh says:

    Luvr Kitteh approves

  30. Lorfah says:

I had a fat cat before, probly wit diabeetus. But we didn overfeed him or somthn like that. We actually tried to put him on a diet several times but never lost any weight.
Aaaanygays, my point here is he was a happy pappy, but unfortunately we had to put him out cuz his hips were tires of draggin his 9 kg of ass around.
He was then 14 yrs old.
    R.I.P. mah kitteh.

  31. KC says:

this is soo wrong. . hilarious. . someone should instruct the owner on pet feeding instructions

  32. GT says:

    OMG I LUV FAT CATZ
EVERY CAT SHUD B FAT CUZ THEY SO HAPPY EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
    NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM
    FOODIE!

  33. Abby says:

Dude, stop saying that is cruelty! My cat Clouse is ten times that cat and ever since he was a kitten we didn’t feed him much! (P.S. FAT CATZ RULE!!!!)

  34. klaus says:

people should start reporting these pics- they are offensive/disturbing to a large number of people and they are abusive not funny

    • Eric says:

I’m diabetic and laugh just the same at these pictures. If we ever stop laughing at ourselves, heaven help us.

  35. iz not lol enuff says:

cats are supposed to get 3/4 cup a day of dried food. my cat doesn’t even eat that much. you can give him treats in moderation, of course. free feeding is a fine for a cat that doesn’t devour everything in front of him. but if your cat stops looking sleek, you should start limiting how much food he gets.

additionally, if your cat is indoor-only, make sure he has toys and novelty to keep him dashing around the house a little bit. he should have some crazy time every day. it keeps them happy and fun.

i don’t understand how cats end up like this one. it must take some pretty severe neglect.

  36. Sakee says:

I hate it when people laugh at things like these. Fat cats are not a joke.

  37. Cwhut says:

    This is cruel and insensitive.

  38. barboid says:

oh bee hayv or my cat will sit on you!!!!

climbs up on soapbox: my thoughts are mixed, but tend toward agreeing with eric, abby, lorfah, mark, tea, and leroy. I have type2 but this pic was meant to be funny because of the way the actor says it.

And all you people with these negative remarks, has it ever occurred to you people that there might be something involved other than over-feeding? My cat has a thyroid problem that has caused her to lose weight, but that problem can go the other way as well. Your jumping to conclusions about this cat is just as mean-spirited as what you’re accusing the owner of doing. -climbs down soapbox and goes to hug the cat—-

  39. Quadeddie says:

TOO MUCH GUVMENT CHEEZ = FAT MOUSES

TOO MUCH FAT MOUSES = FATTY CAT

    BLAME DA GUVAMENT!

  40. FirestarWarriorFan says:

OMG guys loosen up. i LUV catz n i still laughed a little when i saw this pic. it’s NOT cruelty, plus its probly photoshopped. i used to have a HUMONGOUS maine coon cat and she never ate too much, got lethargic, or seemed unhappy in any way. it was a JOKE. nobody has to take offense just cuz the pic mentions diabetes. Im sure the owner of this site never meant to offed anyone. good grief ppl

  41. LMAOman says:

how the heck do you overfeed a cat anyway? i just put food in my cat’s bowl, and she eats what she feels like eating.

  42. kw says:

to Klaus (and the others with similar pov’s) – who said that people should start reporting these pics because they are offensive to a large number of people…

a large number of people also find these pics friggin hysterical… chill out kill joy… you dont like it? go get your lol cat fix somewheres else then…

diabeetus and fat cats are funny in the right context -

its not like the poor thing is hooked up to a dialysis machine on his way to ceiling cat

  43. Judith A. Graham says:

Just shared this with the dlife forum. It’d be interesting to see the reaction.

He reminds me of Don Vito Margera! lol

  44. Hoshi says:

OH LOL THIZ IZNT FUNNEH I FELL SO BAD 4 DIS KITTEH stfu

  46. blow me says:

omg I love ur mum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! suck me off

  47. Caity... says:

    pervert

  48. Orion says:

Jeebus H Chrust, people, CHILL! Go find a cause or something, wave some signs in some church’s font yard or something, but don’t you DARE try to censor something that I (and a great many others) enjoy looking at just because YOU get uncomfortable looking at it. If you don’t like it, kindly stop visiting this site and leave it to those of us who are developed enough to understand that humor is sometimes painful, and that it is possible to laugh at something and be repulsed by it at the same time.

    • chris says:

      you are an idiot…

“don’t you DARE” hahaha get off your soapbox for a minute. censorship is not the issue here. Its about the CAT, not the PHOTO. the photo is fine, the owner of the cat needs to be in prison though.

  49. lol cat lurver says:

its not sad it looks like it wants a cheeseburger whats wrong wit dat folks?
i had a cat that was maybe weighed a bill less but he was a *ahem* big cat
never the less and he was happy as can be
AND he was on a diet
    fat cats are happy =P

  50. Annie says:

Why don’t we all just step back for a moment and chill? We’re having this huge argument over a photo of a morbidly obese cat with a humorous caption that makes light of a serious medical condition. To me it’s like a funny “get well soon” card.

  51. Sara says:

I love this pic. The caption is SO funny! Still, it’s kinda cruel. I mean, think of the poor kitteh. lol

  52. tuna says:

its not that poor cat’s fault its huge, its the owners for feeding it so much

  53. lindsay says:

    I AGREE THIS ISN’T FUNNY

  54. lindsay says:

yes – let’s make fun of people with a possibly life-threatening disease,

hey we could personalize this for myself – Kitteh has rheumatic arthritis and is on steroidal medication and antidepressants that both make kitteh gain weight

OR Kitteh is on anti-psychotics that make kitteh enjoy life better but get made fun of because drugs make kitteh fat

  55. Mind says:

    Better caption
    (btw don’t be insulted, Americans)

    Typical American Cat.

  56. kemmy98 says:

You friggin people! Its fake! Well, it probaly is. No cat could get that big! I have 2 so I should know. No cat can get that big! It’ed be in a coffin.

  57. katzsux0rz says:

Have it put down… along with all the other tubby ass ppl on the planet =)

  58. Tomato Queen says:

Having been a fat cat owner, and after losing him:
There are many reasons why this can happen, a good number of them genetic, and some related to what we all know can happen to male cats after neutering. My boy weighed 22 pounds and did not overeat, nor was he overfed. He was just one of those unfortunate cats whose metabolism did not function well. At age 15, he started to lose weight after being placed on a prescribed older cats’ diet, and developed hyperthyroidism. Diabetes II, insulin twice a day? Easy peasy compared to what a damaged thyroid can do. If I had known what was going to happen to him during the course of that illness (about 17 months), I would have had him put to sleep immediately, rather than try to “manage” that disease. He’s been gone almost a year and I can’t bring myself to get a cat again, just knowing what the end can be for them.
