I think this posting is highly offensive to people with mental disabilities, and to anyone who cares about such people. I have lodged a complaint, hoping it would be removed, but it hasn’t. The rest of ICHC content is blissfully non-offensive; why does this one need to persist? If you agree, please complain too. Maybe it’ll get removed eventually.

The r-word is not a joke. Just like when you use the n-word, you are making fun of a group of people who has no control over what they were born with. What makes it even worse than using the n-word is that black people can stand up for themselves, many people born with mental retardation cannot.

In my experience, people who say “Jeez, lighten up! Its just a joke” are the people who scream the loudest if you make a joke about their group.
